Baptism FAQ
(This is a MUST-READ before You are Baptised!)
What does getting Baptized mean in the Order?
Baptism is symbolic of a covenant, or ancient type of contract: you agree
to believe in the possibility of Our Lady of Debauchery, and to do your best
to keep your activities Safe, Sane, and Consensual; we agree to be there
for you if you need information about how best to do that, and to admit you
into the company of other people that have made the same agreement. We, of
course, take this covenant very seriously; but if you like what you see of
us, and would like to be involved in making the Order a real live force for
Joy in the World, then you're just the type we're looking for!
What would Happen if you were Really Baptizing Me? As in Standing Right
in Front of Me?
I would look you right in the face and ask you the two questions that
you will be asked to click on in the Virtual Baptism: "Do you believe in Our
Lady of Debauchery?" and "Do you Promise to keep it Safe, Sane, and Consensual?"
If you answered both of those questions in the affirmative, then I would dip
my finger in the bowl I was carrying and press my wet index finger between
your eyebrows, thus "poking you in the pineal gland." (It's a Discordian joke.)
Then I would welcome you into the Order as a member. That's It. Then I would
hand you a 3x5 card and a pen so we could get your incriminating evidence
for our files -- your name(s), address, contact points like ICQ and Email
@dresses, that kind of thing. That way when we do something we can let you
know about it.
What about After I'm Baptised? What Then?
The First Thing we recommend you do is go take a long look at the
Catechism
. It is the backbone of the Order -- the basics of what we are trying to
do. If you would like to hold a higher title in the Order, or be Confirmed,
knowledge of the Catechism is essential. Other than that, hang out. Participate.
We're all trying to learn from each other so that we can all have More Fun;
come do your part! You might Learn Something!
Are you Ready? Still wanna do this? Then go . . .
