"Life is meant to be lived with a soundtrack."
-- Richard Threadgill, former roommate
We believed this long before Richard put it into words for us; and we understood exactly what he meant when he said, "This room is broken" as he headed to the album racks. (BTW: We may be old-fashioned, but an album is a collection of songs on a recorded medium, whether vinyl, cassette, DAT, or CD. So There. Nyah.) This list will never be quite complete; but we'll start off with some of the music that has helped pull us through life.
Styx
Babe. Haven't We Been Here Before. The Longest Night. The Great White Hope.
Grand Illusion. I'm OK. Suite Madam Blue. Renegade. If you were around during
the 70s and anywhere near a radio, you probably recognize at least one of
those titles; these guys are great musicians and wonderful songwritiers, and
they hit on a lot of emotional buttons -- in a Good Way -- for the Mother
Superior and the Grand Inquisitor.

Rush
Subdivisions. Tom Sawyer. Lock & Key. Red Barchetta. Trees. Limelight.
Mystic Rhythms. Distant Early Warning. Red Sector A. This is Good Stuff. For
the visually oriented, there is also a great video collection of their songs.

Adam Ant
Goody Two Shoes is probably what you've heard from Adam Ant, but there
is a whole lot of great stuff out there that you may not have known about.
I recommend his early albums with the Ants for energetic stuff, music to
get angry to (especially Kings of the Wild Frontier); his solo stuff has
run the gamut from great dance tunes to lovely mellow love songs ("Wonderful").
Video collection availale; good stuff. Highly Recommended.

"Weird Al" Yankovic
This King of the Pariodies started out in the School Cafeteria and has
lasted through to tick off Coolio; the Grand Inquisitor has everything he's
done thus far, including the Peter and the Wolf album he made with Wendy
Carlos (and you should hear this stuff; he added in the NRA, for Pete's sake!).
As time has progressed, he has included more of his own music, and he can
write. He's also tried to do the movie thing; UHF is quite funny and
worth seeing.

Aerosmith
Wow. Just wow. We have a copy of their greatest hits video tape, Big
Ones You Can Look At, (and that title alone should tell you about the
sense of humor these guys have), and the fact that these guys have been together
for years and years and still make Great Music and insist that when it's not
fun anymore they'll stop doing it -- wow. Just wow. And the music? They're
Aerosmith! What cave have you been living in?

Meatloaf
He's done a lot more albums than Bat Out of Hell I and II; we own a copy
of Midnight at the Lost and Found, and it's great stuff (especially his version
of Promised Land); and how could the Order not list the guy who did Paradise
by the Dashboard Light, not to mention Life is a Lemon, and I Want My Money
Back?
