2. Who Speaks in Poetry…?

Casca, 1st and 2nd commoner, and Cassius speak in prose.  Casca and Cassius speak in prose because even though they are noble they are also conspirators and thus speak in prose. 1st and 2nd commoner speak in prose because they are everyday talk because they are commoners. Soothsayer also speaks in prose because he is also a commoner and would speak in everyday talk. Marullus and Flavius speak in blank verse and poetry because they is a noble and they are supposed to be educated and thus speaks in iambic pentameter but since they goes on to deface public property he speaks in blank verse rather than poetry. Cassius and Brutus speak in poetry because they are high nobles and are considered the main and most important characters. Through Cassius’ poetry it shows his intentions on what he wants to do with Caesar.
