Rhetorical Device Analysis

 

  1. “To wrong the dead, to wrong myself and you,” – Antony
    1. This is alliteration because of the repetitive use of the word “wrong.”
  2. “For I have neither wit, nor words, nor worth” – Antony
    1. This quote is alliteration because of nor and nor, as well as consonance because of the use of words; “wit,” “word,” “worth”
  3. “Look in this place ran Cassius’ dagger through;” – Antony
    1. This quote is a use of antistrophe because of the inversion of the sentence.
  4. “Had you rather Caesar were living and die all slaves” – Brutus
    1. This quote is antistrophe because of the inversion of the sentence structure.
  5. “(Which all the while ran blood) great Caesar fell” – Antony
    1. This quote is parenthesis because of its use of parentheses
  6. “Who is here so base, that would be a bondman?” – Brutus
    1. This quote is ellipsis because of the omission of the word “they” and at the same time  Antistrophe because of the inversion.
