Gilfach Crush Penlan

GILFACH GOCH RFC 50
PENLAN RFC 7

Principality Cup Preliminary Round

We took no time getting onto the scoresheet as it was just four minutes into the game when outside half Ryan Jones crossed for the first try when he converted himself.

He followed this with a penalty and then ran in another try and conversion.

Although the visitors battled they were no match for the power of the home side and they were soon forced to give away a penalty try.

The pressure was kept up and it wasn't long before skipper Adrian Williams, taking the ball outside the 22, cut in at speed to go under the posts.

Just before half-time the forwars, drove down to the Penlan try-line and Dai Thomas picked up and went over. Jones converted all the tries to make the half-time score 38-0.

In the second half, with the game already won, we lost concentration and started to get a little scrappy, until Ryan Mogg ran in an excellent team worked try. Jones was again on target.

Penlan then made a final effort and scored an excellent try which they converted, but replacement scrum-half had the final say with a try to bring the score 50-7.
