As You Like It
Samantha Elizabeth Meyers

I thought that this would
Take my world
And turn it upside down
Mass chaos was my envisionment
Now I see structered chaos
I've learned so many things today
About myself
About you
About love and lackthereof
I saw you as the man
I couldn't live without
I see you as a boy
Who I could live with
I broke down every piece of you
That you would let me find
And digested it until
I thought I knew you
Until I knew who your star was
Who you blindly worshipped
When I ventured to your heart
I found myself discovering
Unearthing, virgin territory
No one dared to crawl under your skin
And challenge you about love
You don't know what it is
Not claiming that I understand it perfectly
While you thought of your breathing
I thought of your breathing
Do you see the difference?
Not saying that you are
Totally selfish
I am concerned with my well-being
But therein lies the antithesis
I woke up today
Living in a fantastically impossible world
Is not healthy
Now I have to rejoin the world
Where you live
Filled with loveless, ignorant
And untangible people
(If you consider an organism without
Love even a person at all)
I'm stuck here
Until I find my 'soulmate'
(Although I thought you fit the bill)
But you gave me one thing
Which I am thankful for
What I don't want in a 'man'
I don't want someone
Who denies the truth
I don't want someone
Who doesn't *think*
And I certainly don't need either
Continue to live your life
Without emotion
As you like it

Pieces of You
Samantha Elizabeth Meyers

I cannot see through you
Like I once thought I could
I saw inside of you.
You always knew I could
So why stop playing now?

I tried to describe all the things
You never felt.
You turned me off
And continued to live blindly.

I dug just below the surface.
On my desent, I saw amazing things;
Pieces of you that you've never seen.
I let you stare into your own abyss.
You ran.

The goodbye was brief at best
Definetely emotionless.
You fled so quickly
Taking the only light with you.
I didn't have a chance to put my shoes on.
So I'm still crawling under your skin
Drowning in darkness
Searching for a pore to seep through.

I'm discovering so much more
Within you, without you.
I've charted out my escape.
Impatiently waiting for
My opportune time
When will you give me time?

I see all that you see.
These days I feel like your twin.
I know my way around down here.
I have a feel of you
One thing I found missing;
Your heart.
Was is broken?
You cleaned up the mess well.
Were you born without one?
How sad.
Did she consume it
When she drained the life from you?
Or maybe you hid it.
You always kept things from me.

I have some glue
To piece it back together.
There's nothing physical for me to do
I can only digest so much of you
At one sitting.
I could be freed any day now.
I'm just waiting for you
To look up at the millions of celestial
Bodies; then you'll remember me.
That girl, who you love.
I'm contained in that molecule
That is forming in the corner of your eye.
