"Jeff!" Dee yelled as she ran up to Jeff and hugged him. She felt a tapping on her shoulder and turned around to see Adam with a huge grin on his face. "Adam!" she said as she hugged him. "Wow! I haven't seen you guys in forever! You look great!" "You're looking pretty good yourself," Adam said. He was really thinking it and didn't want it to slip out, but it did. "Aw, thanks! Let's go get some breakfast before the race starts," she said as she walked arm in arm with the two. She'd been there since Thurs. and it was now Sun. With all the practicing and autograph sessions, she hadn't seen them, she'd barely seen her brother! She was glad she was on tour with Brian and could see him more! The grabbed some breakfast with Adam staring at Dee the whole time. So many thoughts were in his head. She was his bestfriend, but she was so hot! But she had a boyfriend, he thought, as he saw the "B-Rok" necklace. He'd never ruin her happiness or their friendship, so he was glad to be her bestfriend! Brooke appeared soon, much to the discontent of Dee, and yapped to Jeff about how she was gonna watch the race from the trailor cause she had a headache. She glared at Dee the whole time and Dee glared back. The rest of breakfast was spent catching up on old times, then the guys had to go back to the garage. Dee went right along with them. Unlike Brooke, whom the garage disgusted, Dee loved it! Though she didn't know the exact parts of the engine, she loved the smell and getting dirty and all that fun stuff, and she was slowly learning the parts too! Dee rotated sitting in Jeff's, Adam's, and her brother's cars and starting them when needed. She loved every minute of it! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As quickly as the race started, it ended. Victor got first with Jeff in second and Adam in third, both only seconds behind Victor. It was great! Victor wanted to share his victory with his bestfriends so, Jeff and Adam pulled their cars into Victory Lane right beside Victors. Champagne and Coke were spraying everywhere and everyone was so happy!! It was awesome! Brooke was nowhere to be seen and Dee could tell that Jeff was greatly upset by this, but he didn't let anyone else, esp. the media-they'd have a hay-day with it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As Dee was walking back to the garage, she saw Brooke come out of Rusty Wallace's trailor. Rusty did't qualify for the race so he wasn't in it. Dee promptly marched over to Brooke and asked her what she was doing, even though she had an idea. "What do you think," Brooke smirked and walked off. Dee resisted the urge to beat her, she'd fought enough people already! But, she was cheating on Dee's bestfriend! And with Rusty Wallace-ugh! Dee ran after her, grabbed her shoulder, and spun her around. "Why exactly are you cheating on Jeff!" Dee demanded. "Well, my dear naive girl, Rusty's making more money that Jeff ever will," Brooke said bluntly. "That's low! What disturbs me more is that you could care less you got caught!" "Why do you care if I got caught. Jeff would find out some way or another." "Brooke," Dee said wanting to call her so many names, but finding none suiting, "You suck! How could you hurt Jeff?" "Look, it's none of your business! Just go and tell Jeff and leave me alone!" "Oh, it is my business! He's my bestfriend..." Dee said before Brooke spun around and punched her. Dee was caught off guard and fell to the ground with Brooke on top of her. Unlike Jo, Brooke was heavier and stronger and Dee had no where to go. She tried to protect herself as much as possible while getting her punches in. Brian, who had showed up to surprise Dee, was wandering around looking for her. He spotted her immediately. "Dee!" he yelled as he ran over and pulled the two apart. Brooke smirked at them both before sauntering off. Dee turned around to face him. "Brian! What are you doing here?" she asked kinda out of breath. "Well, the interview and all was over yesterday, so I figured I'd come and surprise you! How come every time I show up to a place you are without me, I gotta separate a fight!?" he joked. "She started it!" Dee laughed. "I gotta find Jeff!" she told him as she bit her lip, "Ow!" "Oh baby, we've gotta get you something to put on that lip. That eye looks pretty bad too," he said as he gingerly touched her eyes. She winced. "Sorry," he said sypathetically. "We gotta find Jeff first," she said as she led him away. They walked to Jeff's trailor rather slowly. Dee was dreading tellling him, as much as she disliked Brooke, she hated to see her bestfriend hurt. She felt to bad for him. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Oh, man, it feels great to be in Orlando!" Dee said as Brian's Beamer crossed the Orlando City Limits. "I hope Jeff's okay," she said quietly. "I'm sure he will be. You did everything you could," Brian reassured her, patting her leg and holding her hand. "Yeah," she said quietly, remembering Jeff's reaction when Dee told him what happened. He was in the garage alone, just sitting there. When she told him, he just stood there quietly. Then, he punched the wall before collapsing to the ground. Dee rushed over and threw her arms around him, trying to comfort him. She was the one who discouraged him from beating Rusty Wallace to a pulp. NASCAR Officials would surely kick him out of the sport and racing was his life! She stayed up all night with him, holding him while he cried, trying to comfort him and talk to him until he fell into a fitful sleep. That's why Brian and Dee didn't get back home till almost 8:30 Mon. night. Dee had to make sure Jeff was gonna be okay. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dee and Brian got to Dee's apartment to find a box outside her door. Thinking is was another "girlfriend disliking" box, they kinda ignored it until they saw what was inside. Anything and everything Nick had ever given Kris was thrown in, plus Kris' pictures and posters of him and anything "Nickesque", i.e, shirts, anything green, anything that had to do with basketballs, Nirvana, trucks, Prowlers, or BSB, anyting Nick reminder. They both looked at each other before entering the apartment. The place was empty so, they decided to see where everyone was. Shelly, Dawn, and Vanessa, weren't hard to find, they just called Howie, Kevin, and AJ. They knew Kris wouldn't be at Nick's, but Brian called Nick anyways, to see exactly what went wrong even though he had a clue. |
