The The First Album

This album is pure Ani. When I am asked what some of my favorite Ani songs are, I immediatley start spouting out songs from The First Album. It is perfect for new Ani fans, very mellow on the surface, but it has sam very valid things to say. We get to see Ani at face value here; nothing more, nothing less.

Not So Soft

"Anticipate" and "Itch" are the gems off this one, I think. It has the same girl-and-her-guitar feel to it as the first album.

Imperfectly

We see Ani slightly turning torward her more rebelious side here, with songs like "What If No One's Watching and "Every State Line." It's not my favorite, but it has some real gems on it.

Like I Said

"Like I Said" will always hold a special place near and dear to my heart, since it was the first album that I heard. Hearing those first chords of "Anticipate" really takes me back. The remixes here are really something else. A must have, in my opinion.

Puddle Dive

This CD is a MUST if only for "Any Day." That song sends me into pieces. Along this beautiful ballad, we get a taste of girl power, (which I love) with songs like ""Blood In The Boardroom" and "My IQ" and Ani's ever so present rebelious spirit with songs like "Willing To Fight." A truly awesome listen.

Out Of Range

This one ranks up here with the best. The in depth exploration of love and life and how they entertwine makes this an exceptional creation.

Not A Pretty Girl

All Ani fans know of Not A Pretty Girl. It is truly the prfect mix of ballads, feminism, social awareness, and rebelion.

Dilate

We definitly see an evolution of Ani's sound here; a very refreshing evolution, in my opinion. Whenever I want a change of pace, I pop this one in my CD player. I have heard that when it first came out people were a bit surprised because it didn't hold any of that socially outrageous stuff that Ani's other albums have, but I believe Dilate is outrageous enough in its own right. It deals with relationships in a way I have never seen before.

Living In Clip

This album is just phenomenal. When I listen to it, I feel like I really am at a concert with Ani. I love all the comments between the songs. Ani seems very friendly and down to earth with her fans, and don't we all love to hear her laugh? I think the highlight of this album, however, is the amazing version of "Both Hands." It's really incredible.

Little Plastic Castle

There is just a certain moood here that I love. It's so varied, with upbeat tracks, like, "Deep Dish" and "As Is," And just the right amount of ballads, like "Pulse" and "Independence Day." My favorite song, however, has to be "Fuel." My friend Steph and I know every verse by heart!

Up Up Up Up Up Up

I must say that I miss the "old" Ani!!! It's not that this CD isn't good, but it seems as if Ani has lost her "angry edge." I'm glad that Ani seems more content with herself, because we all need to feel that way, but it's that road to self discovery, and rebellion that I fell in love with. Still a good listen, it's just not the same.

To The Teeth

"To The Teeth" is different, but the more I listen to it, the more I love it. The ballads are what get me here. "Soft Shoulder" and "Cloud Blood" rock my world.

Revelling/Reckoning

This album affirms my complete and total admiration of this woman. She has grown so much in eleven years, it's incredible. There is something for every Ani fan here. My words will not do this album justice. Just listen to it!

Render

Yes! Audio and visiual stimulation here! I just love it. We are able to see Ani in every domain, on stage of course, at work, and at play. It's just amazing, like being in the front row at one of her concerts and then some!

So Much Shouting, So Much Laughter

Well, not as good as Living In Clip, I don't think, but I still don't regret trudging out in the rain to get this one. I love all three new songs: "Shrug" "Welcome To:" and of course "Self-Evident." I think the best rendition of an old song would be "You Had Time." I wish there was more though, and we could bhave heard some renditions of some other songs, besides the ones that also appeared on "Living In Clip. Still a good album though, of course. How could it not be?
