The Lorelai's First Day at Chilton
The name pretty much sums it up. During Rory's first day at Chilton, she accidentally sabotages Paris's history project (which sucks, because Paris is crazy). Lorelai wears cowboy boots and a pink tye-dye t-shirt that gets a lot of attention. She gets even more attention at the Chilton bake sale--from a certain teacher in particular.

Kill Me Now
rory mentions to her grandparents that she has to learn a sport for school. somehow emily seems to think that golf is a sport, and that rory simply must play a few holes with richard this weekend. lorelai gets jealous when she realizes rory has a better relationship with richard and emily than she herself does. jackson catches sookie trying to buy strawberries from another vendor. *gasp!* this creates a lot of excitement around the hollow.

The Deer-Hunters
number of coffee references:

Still in her first days of Chilton, Rory gets a "D" on her paper. She studies like crazy for her next test on Shakespeare. She misses the exam because a deer ("the one with 'Jeep' imprinted on its forehead") hits her car. This causes Lorelai to go nuts on Headmaster Charleston and call him 'Il Duce.' So now Max wants her.

Cinnamon's Wake
Lorelai's almost-date with Max gets postponed when Babette and Morey's cat dies suddenly. They have a wake, at which Dean and Rory um, express their feelings for one another. ("Do you have a minute?" "I have gum.") oh--and Rory gets mad at Lorelai for going out with Max.

Rory's Birthday Parties
It's Rory's birthday (duh) so Rory and Lorelai plan a big party at their house. Meanwhile, Emily decides to have a formal (and catered) party at her house for Rory. Emily invites a bunch of people from Chilton without telling Rory, which causes her to have an uncharacteristic outburst at the party. And dumb Emily said it was Lorelai's fault. And then she went nuts on her servants because they didn't but the cheese in individual bags. To make up for it, Rory asks Emily to attend her other party. (And then Luke shows up with the ice--and Lorelai hugs him!! yay!!)

Kiss and Tell (my favorite episode!!)
Rory has thickening needs so she goes to Doose's Market and Dean randomly decides to kiss her there. So she shoplifts and Lorelai finds out about the kiss. Upset that she didn't hear about it from Rory, Lorelai tries to prove that she's cool with the two of them together by asking Dean to watch Willy Wonka with them. This makes Rory slightly angry.

Love and War and Snow
Rory spends the night at her grandparents house while Lorelai is stranded in Star's Hollow. Max visits Lorelai and they have a date. (Remeber--Luke gets jealous--yay!) Some random guys stand outside in the snow in uniforms and Luke brings them coffee.

Rory's Dance
number of coffee references:
Rory asks Dean to go to the Chilton dance with her. Lorelai gets all excited and makes her a dress, but in doing so somehow falls and hurts her back. Emily comes over to help Lorelai and makes her a gross banana sandwich. At the dance, Dean spoons Rory (yay!!) when Tristan is talking to her. <--(high point of episode) Then Tristan and Dean get all pissed off and fight.

Forgiveness and Stuff
(christmas episode!! yeah!!)
number of coffee references:

Lorelai gets un-invited to the annual Gilmore Christmas party, but Rory goes anyway. During dinner, Richard collapses, bringing everyone to the hospital. Lorelai, unable to find a taxi, gets a ride from Luke, who tells her he can't imagine anyone being disappointed with her. (yay!!) At the hospital, there are emotions flying as Richard talks about his will, the coffee machine breaks, and Luke and Lorelai flirt.

Paris is Burning
sorry, no summary yet :(

Double Date
number of coffee references:
Sookie wants Jackson. And as we know, she has already asked him if he wants to go out with her. (yes.) Now she has to set up a date. Since Jackson's cousin Roone is in town, Sookie asks Lorelai to come along on the date to accompany Roone. This makes for a crazy evening since Roone shits monkeys because of Lorelai's height. What a nut. On the same night, Rory and Lane have a double date (behind Mrs. Kim's back) with Dean and his friend Todd. Rory wears a very cute sweater on this date. Please e-mail me if you know where to find it! (lol)

Concert Interruptus
Lorelai is in charge of the town rummage sale. (doesn't really relate to anything, but that's ok...) Sookie wants Lorelai, ROry and Lane to come with her to the Bangles concert. When Mrs. Kim doesn't allow Lane to go, Lorelai helps Rory invite Paris, Madeline, and Louise togo with them. (They are at Rory's house for a school project.) At the concert, Madeline and Louise split to go to some random kids house and drink.

That Damn Donna Reed
number of coffee references:
The episode starts out with Rory and Lorelai watching the "incomparable Donna Reed Show." (Lorelai's words) Dean (who is also there) mentions that he likes the idea of a wife cooking for her family. This starts an argument between Rory and Dean. Rory is taking care of a baby chick for school, and when the chick (stella) gets loose, Lorelai calls on Luke to come help. Meanwhile, Rory invites Dean to join her in cat sitting Babette's new kitten (Apricot).

Christopher Returns
number of coffee references:

Well, Christopher returns. (Rory's dad) Emily invites Christopher and his parents to join in their weekly dinner. This does not go over well. Lorelai, forgetting about her painting date with Luke (yeah!!) spends the night with Christopher, "schmootzing." An ok episode.

Star-Crossed Lovers and Other Strangers
It's Rory and Dean's 3-month anniversary! While they go out on their date, Lorelai goes to dinner at her parents' house, as usual. As a *fun* surprised, Emily has a very annoying man come to dinner, too. He laughs funny. Just as Lorelai is surprised by this crazy guy, Luke gets a surprise visitor of his own.

Breakup, Part 2
Rory, upset from her breakup with Dean, decides to move furniture at 6 in the morning. Then she and Lorelai go out to run errands, and in doing so see Luke wrestling Dean in the street. Rory, attempting to distract herself, goes to a Chilton party, at which she unexpectedly shares a kiss with a boy we know.

P.S. I Lo...
number of coffee references:

Rory is still upset about her breakup with Dean. So she and Lorelai play 1-2-3. This is bunches of fun. Rory flips out when she realizes everyone is trying to protect her from the bad feelings involved in her breakup. So she packs her bags and heads to grandma's house. Then Lorelai and Rory have a heartfelt mother-daughter talk and everything just comes back together.

The Third Lorelai
Emily's mom, Lorelai, is a nut from hell but she wants to give Lorelai money. So it's cool. Rory sets up Tristan and Paris on a date and lets Paris borrow Lorelai's clothes. And her lipstick. (This is an important episode b/c it is the only one where you can see the upstairs bathroom.) After their date, Tristan reveals that he isn't interested in Paris and likes someone else.

Emily in Wonderland
number of coffee references:

After telling Rory about her problem with Peg Mosely and antique shopping, Emily decides to spend a day in Stars Hollow. While visiting, Rory shows Emily where she and Lorelai used to live. At the same time, Lorelai tries to patch things up between Luke and Rachel.

Love, Daisies, and Troubadours
Rory attempts to talk to Dean again. Rachel tells Luke that he's in love with Lorelai. Max asks Lorelai to marry him.

Sadie, Sadie, Hammers, and Veils
Rory and Dean are back together!! yay!! Lorelai prepares for the wedding by making a veil out of newspaper and buying a magazine. Lane gets shipped out to Korea for the summer (yes, quite random) and no more Tristan :( because he's on Dawson's Creek now. Sookie throws Lorelai a wedding shower that is very pink. Emily becomes very upset when she learns through Sookie that Lorelai is getting married. Kinda cheap because the only reason Lorelai didn't tell her is because Emily would have tried to make her feel bad...right, so anyway, great episode. I would give it five cows if it were a website. If you're really confused on the whole cow thing, click here

Red Light On the Wedding Night
Lorelai and Sookie actually have to sneak Rory into a uh..drag queen club, which is reallly random and weird...Sookie throws a crazy bachelorette party for Lorelai where Lorelai has lots of long island iced tea. :) She makes a phone call to Chris (Rory's dad) and he rattles off Max's entire CD collection, which makes Lorelai decide that Max is not the one for her. (good thing, his hair is more hammer-cracking worthy than our good friend donna reed's.) Notice how Max isn't notified of the change of plans. Anyway Luke makes Lorelai a chuppa, which is suspiciously well-crafted...(ten bucks says he bought it at sears) and Lorelai decides she and Rory going on a road trip.

Road Trip to Harvard
Lorelai, in a frenzy, has decided not to wed Max and instead get in the Wrangler and go on a road trip (duh) with Rory. While they're on the road, they realize they forgot their "tunes," which is a sad, sad, moment. It only becomes sadder when Lorelai turns on the radio. Anyways, they stop at a "B and B," run by this really crazy lady (who I think is actually a multi-millionaire crack dealer under cover) who finds waaaaay too much amusement in seeing her customers ring the bell. A night at the bed and breakfast in a flowery, flowery room with no food makes the girls cranky, and an arguement about Max ensues. Rory and Lorelai go to Harvard the next day, where Rory discovers she loves fatalism and Lorelai is brought back to her younger years, regretting her mistakes.

nick and nora, sid and nancy
sorry, i didn't see this one because i'm a retard. my apologies. but i do know that jess is introduced in this episode. and lorelai and luke have something going on with a danish??

presenting lorelai gilmore
crazy emily gilmore cons rory into having a coming out party, which lorelai is initially upset about, but she gets over it. this is a really hard time for dean, because he has to wear disgusting gloves. but he gets over it, too. so it's all good.

Like Mother Like Daughter
Rory is told by the guidance counselor at Chilton that she isn't social enough during school and needs to become more involved. She randomly sits down at another lunch table, only to later find out, from a pop-up book from hell, that she had been sitting with the Puffs. Fancy that. Lorelai gets quite angry about this and talks to Il Duce about it. She then finds out that she isn't involved enough with the school. Lorelai joins a booster club (where she "boosts") and ends up putting on a fashion show with Emily Gilmore. This is quite amusing. Meanwhile, Rory gets officially inducted into the "Puffs" and tries to go nuts on Headmaster Charleston while wearing pink pajamas.

the ins and outs of inns
someone's comitted a crime in star's hollow!! oh geez! and sookie and lorelai make arrangements for their future inn, but things are more complicated than they seem. they have to wait for the lady with cake to die before they can have the dragonfly. (bummer huh) they get in their first arguement because lorelai thinks that sookie isn't dependable enough to run an inn with.

run away little boy (GREAT episode)
rory is assigned to act in her class's production of romeo and juliet. she is cast as juliet, and tristan is cast as romeo. this makes dean go nuts, and a lot of tension evolves between the two of them. meanwhile, lorelai goes out with a guy from her business class (bryce johnson!!) and later gets made fun of (quite funny) by rory and luke. lorelai expresses her deep, passionate love for luke at the end. (ok, i wish) more like she tells him she appreciates him, etc. which is still a fine java junkie moment. anyway, it's a great episode. don't miss it next time around!!

secrets and loans
the crap shack has termites!! after a quick estimate from crazy kirk, lorelai refuses to ask for financial help from her parents. rory lets emily know anyway, which is a bad move. :( lorelai and rory argue, which puts rory in a funk. to top it all off, lane becomes a cheerleader! lane and janey furtman do a nice routine at the end. (notice how dean is in this episode for an approximated four seconds.)

richard in stars hollow
in his retirement, richard drives emily nuts counting her cups of coffee and watching vases, so she calls lorelai to get her to take richard off her hands for a day. lorelai tells her she'll do it, and spends a day with her father following her around. later on, dean surprises rory with the car he made for her! (remember? from star-crossed lovers and other strangers?) this starts arguements all over the place, first between dean and richard, and then between lorelai and richard. chaos.

a-tisket, a-tasket
number of coffee references:

rory's basket gets auctioned off at the annual stars hollow basket auction. the bidding gets high as dean and jess compete for it. jess eventually wins, not only the basket, but a lunch out with rory, which starts a friendship between the two. this upsets dean, who goes to talk to lorelai. lorelai has lunch with luke (yay!) as sookie has lunch with jackson. jackson makes a surprising proposal during their festive picnic!

it should have been lorelai
lorelai and rory make plans for the bagel hockey team at the completely empty luke's the day before rory's debate at chilton. chris comes into town with his girlfriend sherry for the event, bringing on a sequence of inevitable conflicts in lorelai's family. lorelai discloses an imporant revelation to chris, which sets him off.

lost and found
number of coffee references:

luke and jess decide they need more space, so they look for a new apartment. rory buys a bunch of books at the book fair.

there's the rub
emily finds some gift certificates for a spa weekend, and asks lorelai to spend it with her. lorelai reluctantly agrees, coming along, drinking cucumber water, bathing in mud and sticks, and completing the weekend by stealing robes. rory wants to spend her weekend alone doing laundry, but crazy paris interrupts her and works on electrochemistry instead. (trust me paris--electrochemistry isn't worth studying for. you'll fail it no matter what..) jess stops by to deliver a "care package from luke," making it a par-tay complete with "mac and cheese."
