I Want You Back

Rory ran into her room in tears. She had just seen Dean with another girl and she did not know what to do. She laid on her bed and took deep breaths as she stared at her ceiling. She wiped some wetness off of her face as she turned on her radio so her mother would not hear her sobbing. She curled up into a ball and cried until there were no tears left and there was just a dry stickiness left on her face. Her head pounded almost as hard as heart.

She jumped as she heard the phone ring. She let it ring a few times before she picked it up, "Hello," she said in a little voice.

"Rory? Where are you?!" Dean asked, "I've been waiting here for almost an hour"

Rory didn't reply at first. Why do you care? She thought, You were suppose to meet me but you were with that other girl, so why do you care if I show up or not.

"Dean," Rory said, "Who is she?"

"What are you talking about? You sound really upset, are you okay?"

"No!" Rory screamed, "I'm not okay! I went to meet you today and I saw you there, there with another girl!"

"Oh No!" Dean yelled back, "Rory it's not what you think!"

Rory didn't listen to him, she just hung up the phone. Maybe it wasn't what she thought, but she was to upset to talk about it now. The phone rang again but Rory refused to answer. She was surprised that her mother didn't answer, later to learn that her mother had been at Luke's Diner.

Hours passed and Rory just laid motionless on her bed. The tears had stopped, and the redness had escaped from her eyes. She looked fine, but she didn't feel fine. Her head was still pounding as if someone was using it as a drum. Everything seemed so loud even though it was in complete silence.

Rory heard a knock at her window. She got up and opened it to see Dean standing there. He looked terrible, his eyes were red and puffy, as hers had been hours earlier. "It's not what you think," he said softly, "She didn't know I had a girlfriend, she didn't know about you. She was trying to ask me out, and when I said no, she kissed me. I told her that I had you, I told her I was happy with you"

Rory looking into his big sad eyes and kissed him. She knew he was telling the truth, she could tell by the happiness conveyed into his kiss.
