I know this is really short, but I heard this song and
I was kinda inspired, lol. I don't know if this is
going to have any addtitional parts to it.. we'll

Disclaimer: no i don’t own any of the characters, or
the show, or anything related to that.
Rory opens the door to her house and steps in. She
throws her extremely full backpack and other items
into her room and proceeds to walks into the living
room so that she can check the mail.
“Surprise!!!” Everyone pops out from various
locations around the living room and up the stairs.
Rory looks around. She smiles when she see’s an
extemly large banner that reads..”Congratulations on
finishing another year of hell.”
“Congrats Hun, one more year and your out of that
place!” Lorelai excitedly rushes over to her daughter.
“Thanks mom, but I really didn’t need a party.”
“After all that homework, and tests, and homework.. I
think you deserve a carefree, fun summer!” Lorelai
told her. “Look, Sookie even made you a cake in the
shape of you wearing your Chilton uniform!” They all
laugh and Rory walks around the room and thanks
everyone that came.
3 HOURS LATER
“Thanks for the party mom.. I’m really tired, I think
I’m just going to go to bed.”
“Ok, but be ready for a fun-filled, no Chilton day
tomorrow!! I’m thinking water balloons, sprinklers,
coffee, movies, water guns, more coffee...” Lorelai
continues to babble.
“Good night mom.” Rory says cutting off her mom.
RORY’S ROOM
Rory changes into her pajama’s and takes all the stuff
that she threw in her room earlier off her bed. She
picks up her backpack and a book falls out, she picks
it up and looks to see what it is. Her yearbook.
She takes the book and sits down on her bed and begins
to look through it.
There were no signatures inside, because she hadn’t
gotten to know anybody any better than she did last
year. She notices that lots of the pictures were from
last years events, because the yearbook from last year
had already been made before the pictures were taken,
happens in many yearbooks.
She flips to a page that has pictures from the winter
formal that she went to with Dean. She saw a picture
of them dancing together and smiled, remembering how
happy they were.
She and Dean had broken up a few months back. It had
been a mutual decision, and they were both ok with it
enough to be friends. And not the normal “friends”
that ex’s are.. but actual, real friends.
As she was looking at the picture, she noticed that in
the corner was Tristan, and he was looking directly at
Dean and Rory with a longing face.
As she continued to flip through the yearbook, she
came to a picture of herself and Tristan sitting
together on a bench. She thought back on that day. She
remembered the initial awkwardness after they had
kissed, and how they sat down on the bench and
acctually talked like friends. She had liked Tristan
when he was like that.
She flipped even further until she reached a photo of
the Romeo and Juliet scene that her group had
performed. It was a picture of Rory and Paris kissing.
She laughed, and then remembered what had happened
directly before this.
He had said goodbye. And at that moment Rory began to
miss Tristan. She missed the way that they bantered
with each other. She missed him asking her out all the
time. She missed him calling her Mary, she even missed
his cocky smile. They weren’t exactly friends.. but
they had a connection, and whatever that connection
had been, it was gone.
She shut the yearbook, not wanting to dwell on the
events any longer, they were in the past, and so was
Tristan.
She flipped on the radio that was next to her bed and
listened to a few songs before she decided to turn it
off and go to bed.
Just as she reached for the radio the DJ came on and
said:
“Hey, we have a dedication from Louis in North
Carolina, to a very special girl, Mary in Stars
Hollow, Connecticut. Here it is.”
Rory’s heart stopped for a moment, and then she began
to listen to the song.

Rory smiled, thinking back on what she had said to him
when they sat on that bench:
“Louis, I think this is the beginning of a wonderful
friendship”
