Summary: A familiar prep. school burns down. Rory returns to Stars Hollow
High along with some very well known faces..
Sunday November 4, 2001
Rory drowsily woke up from a deep sleep by the phone ringing by her ear. She tried to find the reciever without opening her eyes yet, and answered it.
Rory: hello
Lane: Rory! I have the best news for you!
Rory: Who is this?
Lane: It's LANE! Sorry to wake you from your
dreams but you'll never guess what happened!
Rory: If this is about Henry, can't you tell me later?
Lane: NO! Just listen..Chilton burned down last night!
Rory: God, is it April Fools Day already?
Lane: I'm not joking!
Rory: Yeah, uh-hu, listen, i'm going back to bed..
Rory hung up the phone and rolled back over to sleep. Just when she was about to drift off again, Lorelai burst through her bedroom door screaming.
Rory: AH! What?!
Lorelai: Chilton is gone! Hell has burnt down!
Rory: What stupid game are you and Lane playing?!
Lorelai: You don't believe me?!
Lorelai dragged her daughter out of bed and into the living room where the news was on T.V.
Rory: WHat's this?
Lorelai: Just listen..
Lorelai turned up the volume.
Newscaster: I am standing Live in front of what's left of Chilton Prepratory High School. I'm sure most of you have heard fluff of the story. There was a minor gas leak in a small storage area of the school which wasn't taken care of for weeks. And, sure enough, it leaded to a disaster that unfolded early this morning at 4:00am. We will have more on this story later today...back to you Don.
Lorelai flicked off the tv screen and Rory was staring there in shock. She turned to her mother and they began screaming up and down dancing in the living room.
Rory: Oh my god..this is the best! No more Chilton, no more..wait..does that mean I go back to..
Lorelai: Yep, you get to be with Dean and Lane again at Stars Hollow High!
Rory: This is unbelievable!
Lorelai: Ha! I know.
Rory: I have to call Lane!
Rory ran into her room and called both Lane and Dean and told them the great news, which they've already heard about. The next morning, Rory excitedly got out of bed and took her shower. Afterwards, she dressed in her normal clothes, which was jeans and a dark red sweater. She grabbed her school-bag and there was a knock at the door. She answered it and there was Dean waiting for her. She gave him a sweet kiss and they walked out the door on their way to school.
Rory: AH, this is so exciting, I can't wait to be in a normal school again.
Dean: What do you mean by normal?
Rory: Well, not the people, because we all know this town's crazy, but it's just refreshing to wear my own clothes and not that uniform. Chilton is gone!
Dean: Yeah, well i'm pretty happy about it too.
Dean wrapped his arm around her and they continued walking to school. Only a short walk, and they reached Stars Hollow High.
Dean: Are you ready?
Rory: Are you kidding?
They walked up to the school together and went into the building. Some
distant friends welcomed her back, and she ran into Lane.
Rory: Hey!
Lane: Hey, this is so great!
Rory: Ah, I know!
Dean: Rory, i'm going to meet up with some friends. I'll talk to you later, ok?r
Rory: Okay, see ya later.
Dean leaned down and gave her a short kiss before walking in the direction of some friends.
Lane: Ok, so let me see your schedule.
Rory: Here you go.
Rory handed her schedule to Lane and she read over it.
Lane: Okay, so you have English and History with me. And you have Biology with me and Dean's also in that class. The others, i'm not in, but Dean might be.
Rory: Okay, great!
Just then, some giggly girls came up to Rory and Lane and started a
conversation.
Girl1: Hey Rory, glad to have you back.
Rory: Thanks.
Girl2: Was that school like totally strict with nuns and priests?
Girl3: Yeah, was it like prison with Britney Spears uniforms.
Rory: Uh, no actually, it wasn't a catholic school or a juvenile Video shoot. It was just...hell. And it burnt down, how ironic.
They giggled, but stopped suddenly when they caught a glimpse of a guy.
All 3 girls: Oh my god, who is that?
Rory and Lane both turned around to see Tristan walking their way. The three other girls put on their best smile and giggled.
Rory: Oh no..what the hell is he doing here?
Girl 1: You know him?
Rory: Unfortunately
Tristan stopped in front of the group of girls and smiled at each of them.
Tristan: Hey Mary, what a surprise running into you here.
Rory: Considering this is Stars Hollow High, and I reside in Stars Hollow, oh
yeah what a shocker.
Girl2: Hi..I'm Janie!
Girl1: I'm Tiff
Girl3: And i'm Ginger!
Tristan: Well nice to meet all of you ladies, i'm Tristan.
The girls smiled and Rory rolled her eyes sickened at what she was
witnessing.
Rory: What are you doing in Stars Hollow, and my High School?
Tristan: Well, there wasn't enough space in the high school in Hartford that I used to attend, so I got to choose which nearby school i'd like to go to.
Rory: And you chose mine? Did you really want to make me miserable that badly?
Tristan: Oh now Mary, don't flatter yourself. There's also your boyfriend I have to torture.
The first bell rang and Tristan walked off, but turned around halfway down the hall
Tristan: Oh, and just to forwarn you, Paris, Madaline, and Louise are also attending this school..be on the watch.
Rory's face fell and she suddenly wished she could just go home. Of course she had Dean and Lane, but the reason she despised Chilton so much was because of the four people that made it all the more miserable.
Girl 1: He is so gorgeous!
Girl 2: Did you see those eyes?! ah, I could die!
Girl 3: (squeals) Let's go see where is first class is!
The three excited girls walked off
Lane: Oh my God.
Rory: Yeah, I know this sucks!
Lane: No, well yeah for you, but I wonder if Henry is here also?!
Rory: Oh, yeah. It's a possibility
Lane and Rory, both lost in her own thoughts walked clumsily to her first class in the opposite directions.
