Title:Luke's love
Summary: Luke comes to Lorelai's rescue.

The sound of the bomb echoed thought Star'shollow. The Town fell silent. Lorelai was now the center of attention once again. People gathered around watching, not saying a word. When out of the silence Luke shouted, "Call 911."
He ran to Lorelai who was still in the jeep. "Luke," she whispered with pain in her voice.
"Don't move, help is coming," he held her in his arms, almost lifeless. Tears ran down her face
"Rory," she said.
"I'll take care of her," he said, "Don't worry."
The ambulance arrived and the crowed was still silent. They pulled Lorelai out of the wrackage. Luke just watched as her blood driped down her face. Luke would give anything for her. Watching them, tears began to flow and fell down his face. How was he going to tell Rory? What would he do if she didn't make it?

Rory got home and went right into her room, as the phone rang. She ran out of her room and listened for the ring. "Hello," she said.
"Sorry wrong number."
She took a deep breath and hung up the phone. The door bell rang and she seemed almost annoyed to anwser it. Luke was standing out side the door with tears still flowing.
"Rory," he said.
"Luke what is it?" she asked.
"Rory, it's your mom. There's been an accident."
Rory stood frozen. "What are you talking about?" She said starting to cry.
"I really don't know what happened, Rory," he said, "She was driving and I guess someone hit her and ran but it was really bad."
Rory just stared as if she didn't believe what Luke was telling her. Rory's eye's widened as she fell to her knees. "Is she--"
"No. They took her to the hospital but that's all I know," he said.
Lorelai layed on the bed on the cold hospital room stareing up at the ceiling, feeling useless and lifeless. The past few events were still a blurr and her body was full of pain, but she was alive.
Lorelai had fallen asleep and hadn't known that Rory and Luke were in waiting room. Rory just stared at the white doors knows that any minute the nurse would burts thought the doors and give her some news. The doors swung up and there she was.
"You can see her now," the nurse said.
Rory got up slowly. She did not want to see walked up to the door and peered thought the window seeing the motionless body laying on the bed. Rory had never seen her mother like that before and she never wanted to. Rory pushed open the door very slowly and walked up to Lorelai's bedside. There she was asleep, all Rory could do was watch, she slowly pulled a chair up to the bed and sat quietly holding Lorelai's hand. She layed her head next to her mother and closed her eyes.
Luke walked up to the door and pushed it open, he never thought Lorelai could ever be this quiet or clam. He made his wat next to Rory, who just sat there. "She's ok?" he asked.
"I don't know they wont tell me anything," she said without moving.
"I'll get you some coffee," he said.
"Thank but-- "
"I know," he said.
"Hey, what time is it?" Rory asked.
"7:35 why?" he said.
"It's friday."
"Ooohhh."
"I should call and tell them, shouldn't I?" she asked herself but Luke anwsered,
"It's up to you."
She stood up and walked out of Lorelai room, leaveing Luke alone. "Where are the phones," she asked one of the nurse's.
"You can use this one."
"Thank you," Rory said.
Luke was now sitting in Rory's seat, passing his hand thought Lorelai's hair. If she only knew how he felt. He sat and imaged a day without Lorelai walking into the diner, or with her smile that even though he never showed it warmed his heart. Rory came back into room and saw Luke. She knew his secret, and she had for a very long time but she always hid the fact she knew.
"Well?" he said.
"She's on her way," Rory replied.
"Okay well I going to leave you guys alone," he said.
"Okay I'll get you if anything," Rory said.
"I'll be here." Luke got up and left quietly and Rory sat down.
"Mom, what am I going to do with you," she whispered. "I called grandma, she's on her way and yes I know you're going to kill me for that," she said. Rory layed her head down and took adeep breath, closed her eyes and fell asleep.
Rory felt a light tap on her arm which woke her up from her sleep.
"Hello Rory."
"Hi grandma when did you get here?" Rory asked.
"A few minutes ago, did you know that man from the diner's here?"
"Yes I did, he saved her." With thoes words said, Emily looked over to Lorelai who was still motionless. Emily's face fell as she watched her. "I'm going to talk to Luke," Rory said, Emily just nodded her head and watched Rory leave.
Emily walked up to lorelai and gave her a kiss on the forehead.
Rory was now back in the waiting room talking to Luke, "What do you think is going on in there?" Rory asked.
"I don't know, I don't think Lorelai could fight with her mom right now," Luke said.
"I don't know she's fell of surprises," Rory said.
"Come on, you want some coffee?"
Rory just stared at Luke. "You go, I'm going to stay here," she said.
"Okay, I'll be right back."
She tried to smile at him but it was no use, she had nothing to be happy about, time passed and Rory hadn't moved from Lorelai's bed since Emily left.

Lorelai took a deep breath and slowly opened her eye's. She looked around the room and noticed Rory asleep on the chair by her bedside, Lorelai felt helpless. She just stared at Rory and that somehow made her feel better. Rory woke up and saw that Lorelai was awake.
"Hey you," Lorelai said with a painful tone.
"Hi mom, how long have you been awake?" Rory asked with a smile on her face.
"An hour maybe," she said.
"And you didn't wake me up?"
"Sorry," she said.
Rory gave her a smile and a kiss. "I got to get Luke." Rory ran out of the room before Lorelai could say anything. She ran down the long hallway and zoomed thought the white doors where she saw Luke still asleep. "Luke," she said softly, "Luke, Luke ...Luke wake up!" she said.
His eyes shot open "What?!" he said.
"She's awake. She woke up."
Together they ran thought the doors and down the hallway. They both walked in with smlies. There she was Luke thought to himself. "You want some coffee?" he asked.
She just stared at him in amazment. "I've been asleep for almostan entirer day -- In the hospital-- what do you think?" she said in a flirty tone.
"Sorry, I didn't know you felt that way," he said.
"Yeah," she said, "Go get me some coffee."
He looked at her and she flash a smile. He knew she was going to be fine.

TWO WEEKS LATER
"Mom I'm home" Rory said walking thought the door.
"Good, cuz I need you to help me," Lorelai yelled from the kitchen.
"Do what?" Rory asked.
"Do you really want to know?"
"Yes."
"No, you don't."
"Yes I do."
"Fine, but you're not going to like it." Lorelai gave Rory a hug and a kiss along with a smile. "I need you to help me shower and get dressed," Lorelai said.
"That's not that bad," Rory said.
"I haven't showered for days," Lorelai replied
"Why?"
"Cuz I can't get this thing on my arm wet," Lorelai said.
"So you wrap it inserran wrap." Rory said.
"We don't have any. I used it all up anwsering the door."
Rory just looked at Lorelai and Lorelai looked at Rory. "Come on, lets clean you up," Rory said.
