‘Jaded Youth Meets The Gilmore Girls’
Sunday Afternoon
Stars Hollow Streets

Lane spots a trio of unfamiliar faces on the bus that just went passed them.

“Rory, did you see those girls on the bus?” Lane asked as Rory’s sight fixated on the bus that stopped at the corner.

Rory and Lane studied each girl as they stepped off the bus.

The first girl off the bus had short hair that curled out from her red and black Anarchy beanie. She had a tee shirt on that read ‘Chronic Fatigues’, that complimented the beige Jenco’s she was also wearing.

The second girl off the bus stood to Lauren’s left. She appeared to be a few inches shorter then Lauren. She had long blonde hair with read streaks that was pulled into a ponytail. She was wearing a Navy blue ¾ sleeve shirt with Rainbow Brite on it, which went well with her black U.F.O.’s.

The third one was by far the shortest. She ran her fingers threw her shoulder length blonde hair with blue streaks. She was dressed in white tank top with the word ‘Angel’ written on it in blue glittery writing, and dark blue denim bell-bottom jeans.

The oldest sister, Alicia, asked, “Miss, can you help us find the Independence Inn?”

“Hold on a minute. Rory dear, will you come here?” this woman yelled.

Rory and Lane picked up their pace and ran over to Miss Patty and the mystery girls.

“Yes Miss Patty?” Rory asked.

“Could you take these girls to your mothers Inn?” Miss Patty asked Rory and Lane.

“Sure,” Lane answered with a small smile.

“There you go girls, you got yourselves two of Stars Hollow’s finest tour guides,” she said as she walked off to her dance studio.

“Hi. This is Lane, and I’m Rory,” Rory introduced them.

“I’m Alicia, and these two are my sisters, Lauren and Cindy,” Alicia said pointing to each of us.

Rory smiled, “Nice to meet you guys.”

“Hey we were just on our way to get dinner. Would you like to come with us?” Lane invited. “Then we’ll take you to the Inn.”

“Sure,” Cindy said agreeing.

“I got the munchies,” Lauren replied.

They all picked up their backpacks and followed their guides to Luke’s Diner. Rory and Lane walked across the street as the girls followed.

“Here it is,” Lane said.

“The best food in all of Stars Hollow,” Rory added to Lane’s statement.

“But…but it say a hardware store?” Alicia asked extremely confused.

“No, that sign was just left up. It’s a store converted into a diner,” Lane explained to them.

“M’kay,” Lauren replied, mimicking Mr. Mackey.

Rory opened the door to the mildly busy diner. Lane immediately walked over to a booth in the corner. Luke walked over and took out a pad and pen and looked up. He looked a little worried about the girls that Rory and Lane were hanging out with.

“Hey Rory, Lane,” Luke said looking at the strangers.

“Hey. Luke meet Alicia, Cindy, and Lauren,” Lane said establishing their presence.

“Nice to meet you. Rory, Lane the usuals?” Luke asked.

“Yes please,” Rory smiled.

“And for you guys?” Luke questioned.

“Three bacon cheeseburgers,” Alicia said.

“With fries,” Cindy added.

“And three coffees,” Lauren grinned.

“UGH!” Luke moaned.

“What?” Cindy asked unsure of what was wrong.

“Teens today…corrupted,” he growled.

“We’re past corrupted,” Alicia jokingly assured him.

“Don’t let them meet your mother…PLEASE!” Luke requested.

“Too late…they’re staying at the Inn,” Lane laughed.

Luke walked away to attend to the rest of his customers. Lane looked around after feeling many eyes staring in their direction. ‘Are they staring because they are strangers or dressed like…like freaks?” Lane wondered.

A curious Lane asks, “So you guys are going to Stars Hollow High?”

“Yeah, except Miss Smartass-” Lauren started but was cut off by Alicia.

“-Ms. Goodytooshoes here is going to a prep school,” Alicia interrupted.

“Really?” Rory asked surprised.

“Yuppers. I start Chilton tomorrow,” Cindy explained to her.

“Really?” Rory repeated. “I attend school there.”

“At least I’ll know someone,” Cindy replied.

Luke walked over and placed the food on the table, with Rachel to help him.

“Thanks,” the group said in unison and began to eat.

“Don’t take this the wrong way but why do you guys dress um…so wild?” Lane asked trying not to be offensive.

“To get people like you to ask questions like that,” Cindy replied.

“It’s a statement,” Alicia added.

Lauren answered Lane with a simple response, “It’s our expression of our personalities.”

“My mom would have a heart attack if I dressed like that,” Lane replied.

“Not Lorelai, she’d think it’s cool,” Rory said.

“Lorelai? Is that your mom?” Alicia asked Rory.

“Yup,” she smiled.

“And she runs the Inn we will be staying at?” Cindy inquired.

“Yup,” Rory repeated.

“Word,” Cindy said as Lauren looked as if she was going to punch her.

“Ghetto ness is evil,” Lauren warned.

“They are different,” Lane whispered to Rory, who just smiled.

“So you and your mom are close?” Alicia asked.

“Yup,” Rory answered.

“Lorelai’s the coolest,” Lane said.

“Where are your parents?” Rory questioned, realizing they never saw a parent with them.

“Our dad died a month ago in a car crash on his way back from work,” Cindy explained.

“I’m sorry,” Rory said.

“It’s ok. We wanted to get away from California so we figured the opposite side of the country was a good place to start,” Lauren retorted.

“What about your mom…if you don’t mind me asking,” Lane asked.

“She left us when we were little,” Alicia answered. “So were out on our own, and our Uncle manages our financial affairs.”

The conversation was ended by the appearance of Luke. Luke brings a bag with Lorelai’s usual inside. “Here. For your mother, since she’s working late,” he said walking away.

After eating their dinner and paying the bill, Rory and Lane take these strangers for a quick tour of the town.

“I got to get going. Mom will be mad if I don’t get home,” Lane said.

“Bye,” Rory said.

“Call me later! Bye,” Lane yelled, leaving Rory to take them to the Inn.

Rory walked down the road to the Inn with the girls to her left. Rory opened the door.

“Hey mom,” Rory smiled.

“Hey sweetie,” Lorelai smiled.

“I brought you dinner,” Rory said handing over the bag with her usual.

Lorelai looked up at the girls standing next to Rory.

“Oh, right. Mom this is Alicia, Lauren, and Cindy. They need a place to stay,” Rory explained.

“Sure,” Lorelai motioned to the bellboy who came over and took the girls and their belongings to their room.

After the girls left Rory explains their situation to Lorelai.

“We were talking earlier and they are moving here because their parents died,” Rory said.

“Awe. Really?” Lorelai asked in shock.

“Yup,” Rory replied. “Alicia and Lauren are going to Stars Hollow High and Cindy is going to Chilton,” Rory explained.

Lorelai looked up, “Chilton. Another person to compete with Paris.”

“Yeah. I can’t wait until tomorrow,” her daughter replied smiling.

The girls came back down.

“So…I hear you’re gonna be staying in Stars Hollow,” Lorelai said.

“Yuppers,” Cindy responded to her.

“This place seems like a very close knit town,” Alicia stated, taking note of the people around.

Michel walks in from the kitchen.

“Michel! I’d like you to meet some of our guests,” Lorelai smirked.

“Go away and get out of my chair,” Michel said in his French accent.

“Go away and get out of my chair,” Lauren mimicked in a fake French accent.

“Stop that!” Michel hissed.

“Stop that!” Lauren repeated.

Lorelai, Rory, Cindy, and Alicia all laughed at this.

“You do this to me on purpose,” he growled at Lorelai.

“You do this to me on purpose,” she continued to annoy him.

“I’m leaving,” Michel said picking up his things and getting ready to leave but Lauren followed him. “Get away from me!”

“Get away from me!” she yelled.

Michel walked out of the Inn and slammed the door behind him.

“Well we gotta get goin home kid,” Lorelai said to Rory.

“Yeah I guess so,” she replied.

“I’ll see you guys tomorrow,” Lorelai said.

“I’ll meet you at the bus stop tomorrow,” Rory told Cindy.

“Bye!” the three sisters responded in unison.

Lorelai and Rory walked out of this Inn together, and Cindy, Alicia, and Lauren went upstairs to their room.
