Tristan scrambled from his locker to the bathroom so he could make a quick change out of his "accountant clothes" in to less obvious and more average clothes. " 'Accountant clothes', hmph," try as he might Tristan couldn't get that guys words out of his head. "I can't even remember his name," he lied to himself. Of course Tristan remembered Dean's name, how could he forget anything about the guy Rory chose over him. Quickly he zipped up his backpack and ran to the bus stop, he had to get on before Rory, or his plan was ruined.
So with a casual nod to the bus driver, Tristan slipped on right before Rory. Not that she noticed, her face was buried in a thick book. It didn't matter, he didn't need to see her, every line of her face was memorized. He spent the next ten minutes watching her not move; with the exception of turning a page or pushing a strand of hair behind her ear. If only he could tell her that he spent hours looking at her because he likes her, not to annoy her or get her in trouble.
Telling her, that was the point of this whole, grungy clothes, smelly bus ride, fiasco. "Ok," he breathed to himself, "go for it," he didn't move, "What's the matter with you Dugray, go talk to her, she's just a girl." Still his legs refused to move, the problem was, this wasn't "just a girl". It was Rory Gilmore, with her sparkling blue eyes. She had captivated him from the moment he first saw her. He couldn't let the entire class know that he had fallen hard so he played it up like he was making fun of her. Making her uncomfortable and staying cool was easier than actually telling her.
He had been close, so close, at the winter formal, but she showed up with her bodyguard and spent half the time making out on the dance floor. I *did* ask her out but he was already making her buy the tickets. I knew I didn't like that guy before I even set eyes on him.
Tristan had been so busy thinking that he had been completely unaware of the time and before he knew it Rory was gathering up her stuff and preparing to get off the bus. "GO! Follow her!" his brain screamed. So Tristan scrambled to his feet after a few of people had stepped in- between he and Rory. As they slowly moved forward Tristan saw Rory get off the bus and there he was.
He, Dean, whatever, was standing by the side of the bus with a bag in his hand. He saw Rory take it, she rose up on her tip toes to give him a kiss. A very long kiss, they came up for air after what seemed hours. The punk proceeded to put his arm around Rory's waste and walk off down the street.
"Hey, kid, you gettin' off here or what?" the bus driver asked breaking his train of thought.
"Uh, no. Wrong stop," he said before turning around.
A/N: Ohhh, I almost feel sorry for the little jerk. Almost. You must understand I *LOVE* Rory/Dean and Lorelai/Luke. Two of the cutest couples if you ask me, but this sorta weaseled into my brain.
