Liza Weil

Born in New Jersey, Liza Weil spent much of her childhood traveling throughout Europe with her parents' comedy troupe. Growing up surrounded by an atmosphere of performing, it was no surprise when she expressed an interest in acting. After the family settled down in Lansdale, Pa., she began commuting to New York for professional auditions. She got her start on the stage, performing off-Broadway in New York and in regional productions in Philadelphia.

Weil made her feature film debut with a starring role in the drama Whatever. She has also appeared in the thriller Stir of Echoes with Kevin Bacon and the independent drama My Baby's Gone. Most recently she completed a role in Dragonfly starring Kevin Costner.

A move to Los Angeles launched Weil's television career, as she quickly landed memorable guest-starring appearances on The West Wing and ER. On ER, she played the wife of a schizophrenic, a patient who stabbed characters played by Kellie Martin and Noah Wylie. She caused a leak in the White House as an intern on The West Wing responsible for letting out the news about Chief of Staff Leo McGarry's drug problem. This fall, she will guest-star in an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as a rape victim. About the character: Paris Gellar has always been known as the brain at Chilton Academy, but now Rory Gilmore is giving her a run for her money. Often sarcastic and rarely at a loss for words, Paris always adds a little spark to whatever conversation she is participating in.
