"We're devastated"
ProSport: Mrs. Răducan, what did you do yesterday (the day the IOC rendered their decision)?
Simina Răducan: I think half the time I have left to live is gone now. My husband and I are devastated by what's happening to our daughter.
PS: Did you always watch the news yesterday?
SR: Actually I was so nervous, I couldn't even sleep last night. When I saw her on Tv, I broke down crying. I don't even know where she finds the power to smile, so sweetly like only she know how.
PS: can you comment about the way the Romanian people reacted to this?
SR: Actually, we have to thank everyone. I saw everyone all over the world talked about Andreea's case.
PS: Did you receive any encouraging phone calls?
SR: Yes, a lot of them. This morning, the postman brought a sack of letters. We opened a few of them, and all of them were addressed to Andreea.
PS: When was the last time you talked to her?
SR: She called us right after her first appearance before the IOC court. We only exchanged a few words, and she just said "Mom, I'm doing well, and today I'll find out what happens to me."
PS: Following IOC"s decision, ROC president Ion Tiriac, said he is going to resign...
SR: This would be a great loss (for the ROC) because he has a heart of gold. It would be such a shame if that were to happen. In fact, he is completely innocent, just like my daughter.
