Her Life is hanging by a thread

Yesterday was just another practice day at CSS Deva. The girls were already in the gym.

After missing a couple of skills, Alexandra Huci who is only13, started feeling nauseous. However, she still kept training. While in the training pit, the girl fainted suddenly. After she had somewhat recovered, she showed up at the doctor’s office at around 11:30 am. The office is headed by Dr. Sanda Motea and is situated inside the school’s courtyard. The gymnast came in complaining of vomititing sensations. Right after giving her a check-up the doctor gave her a Lizadon suppository [antispasmodic drug is the best translation I can come up with]. 15 minutes after being administered the drug, the girl became drowsy. She was taken to the Pediatric Hospital right away, and then went in for a detailed check-up at the County Hospital. The neurosurgeon who looked after her, Dr. Mãhuleanu, decided the girl needs to be taken to the hospital in Timisoara as soon as possible because that’s the only place in the country with a CAT scan/MRI machine [I will clarify which one once I do more research on this]

She was airlifted to Timisoara with a helicopter. During the flight, the machine that should have powered the oxygen supply for the patient worked only for 10 minutes. Alexandra went into a first degree come, then slipped into a second degree coma. Unfortunately, once she got to Timisoara, the CAT scan machine wasn’t working. Right now she is in a deep third degree coma. According to the doctors who check on her, her days are numbered. "Basically, the girl had a detailed physical done in May. The only thing amiss was a stress fracture in her right hand. She gradually returned to training. Everything went smoothly until yesterday’s practice,” explained Dr. Sanda Motea.
