DRINK RECIPE'S


Egg Nog

6 eggs
3oz. gold label rum
2 tbsp. sugar
1 pint sweet cream
1 pint blended whiskey
Grated nutmeg
1 pint milk

Separate the eggs. Beat the egg yolks with the sugar until
mixture is lemon colored; add whiskey, then add milk, rum and the
sweet cream which has been lightly whipped. Beat the egg whites
until stiff and fold into mixture. Chill for at least 3 hours
before serving. Serve in punch cups with a light dusting of nutmeg.
Serves 8 to 10.


Gin Punch

2 cups lemon juice
1 1/2 quarts orange juice
1 tbsp. grenadine
2 quarts gin
2 quarts soda
Orange slices
Lemon slices
Maraschino cherries

Put a large block of ice in a punch bowl. Add the
lemon and orange juices, grenadine and gin, and stir
to blend well. Add the soda and stir very gently.
Garnish with fruit slices and cherries. Makes about
6 quarts, or 40 to 50 servings.
Vodka or Rum Punch:Make as in the recipe for Gin
Punch, above, substituting vodka or rum (white
label) for the gin.


Flaming Cafe Royal

1 tbsp. cognac
Hot black coffee
1 cube sugar
Cognac

Float the tablespoon of cognac on a cup hot coffee.
Put the sugar cube in a teaspoon and fill the
spoon with cognac. Hold the spoon over the coffee to
warm the cognac, then ignite it and lower the spoon
slowly into the coffee as the cognac blazes.


Cider Jack

1 1/2 oz applejack
Hot apple cider
Cinnamon powder

Put applejack into a warmed mug; fill mug with
hot cider. Add sprinkling of cinnamon and serve.


Blueberry Fruit Smoothie

1 c. low-fat Vanilla ice cream
1 c. fresh or frozen blueberries, do not thaw
1/2 c. light peaches, packed in water or natural juices, chopped
1/2 c. unsweetened pineapple juice
1/4 c. low-fat vanilla yogurt

Place all ingredients in a blender.
Cover, and mix until smooth, about 30-45 secs.


Blackberry Milkshake

2 ice cubes
1 c. blackberries
2 T. sugar
4 scoops Vanilla ice cream
1/2 c. milk

Place the ice cubes in a blender or food processor,
and process to crush.
Set aside 4 of the blackberries.
and add the remaining berries to
the blender or food processor along with the sugar.
Puree until smooth.
Add the ice cream and milk,
and process until smooth or to the
desired consistency.
Pour into 2 tall glasses,
and garnish with the reserved berries.
Serve immediately.


Apple Pie A La Mode Shake

1 c. plain non-fat yogurt
1/2 c. applesauce, frozen
2 T. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth.
Makes 1-2 servings (1 1/2 c.)


Peach Apricot Smoothies

1 1/2 c. orange juice
1 carton peach yogurt
1 can apricot nectar
2 tsp. honey

Place all in blender, and process until smooth.


Creamy Fruit Smoothie

3 c. fruit
2/3 c. non-fat dry milk
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. ice cubes
2 T. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Place all ingredients in blender. Cover.
Blend until smooth.

Note: For a tropical taste sensation,
follow directions using a mixture of mango,
papaya, and pineapple, to make up 3 c. fruit.
