The Piece That Just Won't Fit

by Gina "Dusty" Fank

Have you ever done a puzzle and found
A piece that just won't fit?
It won't go in anywhere
Though you pound it with your fist.
It won't go here, it don't fit there,
Those colors just don't match.
You know it must go somewhere,
That somewhere there's a catch.
Have you ever been a person
On the outside looking in;
Sitting on the sidelines
While the others play and win?
If you've ever been an outcast
then you'd know just what I meant.
No matter how you turn me
I'm a piece that just won't fit.
