Born into a non-traditional family of an emotionally disturbed teenage mom Gina found solace from all of the chaos of
divorces, violence and poverty in music. At the age of eight she became a Christian thanks
to the witnessing of her grandmother. She found the strength, love, hope and wisdom in
Jesus that she had needed to overcome the physical and verbal abuse that she had received
from her mother. At the age of twelve she discovered a gift in music and in writing. It was
then that she vowed to use these God given talents, and life to serving the kingdom of
Christ
As a teen and young adult Gina began to see the trials of trying to live a life of Christ in a world of drugs, violence and promiscuity. After a brief period of marijuana and alcohol use herself she decided to make a change. She was torn by the acid overdose of her 12 year old sister, who later became mentally ill. So, at the age of seventeen, she moved out of her home in order to get away from the dangerous and Un-Christ like environment she was in. While working full time and finishing high school she started dating her husband. Living a life of illusion for the next 14 years became a way to mask the world she now lived in. Married at age 19, having two children by the age of 21, and seeing the death of her mother, she started to see the reason's for why God tells us NOT to be yoked with unbelievers. Her husband was emotionally abusive, had several affairs, was staying at work as much as possible and growing in his alcoholism. Gina was left to working full time and practically raising their kids on her own. She had suspected his unfaithfulness, but had no real proof. So, as she continued to draw closer to God, her husband and her drew farther apart. She knew she had made a mistake, but continued to pray for his salvation, their children and their marriage. "Be carefull what you pray for" has been said many times, and Gina was about to understand the true meaning of these words. Although she knew she had been disobedient in her choices, she was ready to make another change. As she was trying to make sense of it all God was preparing a way. During her prayers she continued to hear God calling her to make music once again for Him. As she began writing and singing a joy that had been lost was being restored. Soon God was calling Gina to go out and sing to others. However, her lack of confidence, her situation at home, and her lack of skills gave way to excuse. But God was persistent and said," Just trust and obey." So in a leap of faith Gina decided to follow completely after God. The doors were beginning to open as God brought Kevin and Roxanne Bell into her life. They opened a door of not only music, but a door of ministry. Soon they formed a band called Overflowin' and began bringing others closer to Christ. As a member of Overflowin' she had the opportunity to perform and minister in churches, coffee houses, mission ships, town festivals, Christian clubs, camps, Radio, and Television. Refreshing the weary and lost. The more she ministered, the more she was ministered to. God had wrapped his arms around her. However, things at home continued to digress, and many times threatened her quest. As God worked so did the enemy. Gina was in a constant battle ground at home. |

And the two shall become one was a yearning she and her husband longed for. Something was slowly happening to her
husband. He began to want to start going to church. Then just basically said, "If you can't
beat them join them." So, they continued to go to church together, and her husband
decided to become a Christian. There were some changes, but not enough. Something still
wasn't right.
Walls needed to be torn down. God had brought them to a small church in Day Creek. During that time God did more to grow up Gina's family. Then one day they were asked to work with the leading of the youth group. In response said they would pray about it and give an answer later. The next day after praying the night before the walls came tumbling down! Confession, Repentance and Forgiveness are an important part of our salvation, and a Christian's walk of life. The missing link was found. Gina's husband was faced with a revelation. He had been living a lie and living in secret. As he confessed his many affairs and other sins, the flood gate of God's redeeming love opened wide. At first they were both stunned. Shell shocked from the waves of friendly fire, but instead of anger, Gina felt relief and even praise. God's forgiving grace embraced her husband. Over the next few weeks as he purged himself of his sins, and asked for forgiveness, God began to truly transform his life, their families, and their marriage. Together they continue in ministry. Sharing what God has done in their lives. No one is beyond God's touch. No one is beyond repair. He works in and through us. Shinning his love in our hearts and lives. Together they now know what true love is and are learning how to truly walk in that love. It isn't always easy, but it is always rewarding. If you are uncertain of your faith or want to come to know Christ. Just ask him! Confess and ask for forgiveness; then become a part of a loving bible based church.
