Episode 1.04

Bungalow 5

Pam paced across her hardwood floor, trying to grasp what she had just done on the beach. What in the world could’ve caused her to kiss her boss that way? When had her life gotten so out of sorts, wasn’t Ginger Falls suppose to be her second chance? She was ready to throw something to burn off some of the energy floating throughout her when the doorbell rang.

She swung the door open with the extra energy and came face to face once again with Alex Montgomery—her boss, and the man she had just kissed.

“Alex. . .” she said softly before looking down at the ground, not wanting to face him.

“Pam,” he started as he tilted her head up to look at him. “Don’t worry about what just happened on the beach. Its alright.”

“But how--?” she started to ask when she felt his finger press against her lips for a moment before his lips were on hers once again in a strong, firm kiss.

He kicked the door closed as she began to kiss him back and pulled him closer to her, finding herself up against the iron railing of her staircase while his hands began to untie the back of her top.

Opera House

Inside his small, private office Devon ran his hand through his dark brown hair and gasped for air in between his sobs. “P-Paula…”

Someone knocked loudly at his door.

He wiped his tears furiously. “Hold on.” He heard the door open and slam close. “I said hold on.” He repeated not turning around to see who had entered his office.

“Devon.” A familiar male voice called out. He turned around. “Julian…”

Julian advanced toward him quickly, grabbed his shirt collar and pulled him towards him. “Listen you little twerp I don’t know what you and Paula had going on while I was away but it’s over. Do you understand me?”

“Yes…” He mumbled.

“Don’t let me catch you with her again.” He pushed the young man up against the wall and pointed his finger at him. “You leave Paula alone.”

Windsor Hall

Ricky walked into the living area of the suite, as he buttoned up a Hawaiian shirt and hummed to himself. Sam looked up from the couch, “What are you doing?”

Ricky did some cheesy arm move that he must’ve seen in a movie and smiled, “I’m getting ready for the Delta Alpha Delta party.” He leaned forward and grinned, “You’re going right? This is the kick off to the semester, and do you really want to be a loser and spend you’re entire college life sitting in our living room, watching Magnum PI reruns? Or do you want to have a life?”

“You’re not going to drop this are you?” Sam asked as he glanced back at the television.

Ricky smiled, “Of course not Beer Boy. Go get ready.”

Ginger Sky Apartments

The boys walked into the apartment and threw they’re beach stuff down by the door. Peter went towards the kitchen and Eddie had a huge grin on his face. “Why didn’t you tell me Abigail was the girl?”

Peter stopped and looked at his roommate, “I wasn’t ready to tell anyone about it at all. I wanted to make sure that Abigail and I still had the spark we once did.”

Eddie shook his head as he flopped down on the sofa, “Dude, I’m pretty surprised, then again, you two were the perfect couple back in the day.” He stopped for a moment and looked at the coffee table before speaking again, “Why did you and Abigail break up in the first place?”

Peter took a deep breath as he hoisted himself up onto the kitchen counter, “Well Eddie, we just were moving into a very serious place in our relationship that neither of us were ready for. If Abigail and I had stayed together, we’d probably have had our first kid by now.” He said, knowing that it was a lie, but knowing that he couldn’t tell the truth, not now after convincing Abigail to stick by his story they were back together.

“So, will a wedding be in the future?” Eddie asked as sadness came over him realizing that if Peter were getting married, he’d have to see Carmen at the ceremony.

Peter almost choked when he heard the word wedding, “No, Abigail and I are not at that point yet Eddie.”

KGFT—Max’s Office

Max leaned forward on the desk, staring at the flat screen monitor as he read the information. “Eddie Waterside, Penthouse C, Ginger Sky Apartments, Ginger Falls, Hawaii. 555-6514.” Max stared at the phone number for a moment and then opened up his e-mail client and saw the same number listed for Peter Montgomery. Could his new boyfriend be living with his little brother?

Bungalow 5

Pam released a throaty moan when she felt Alex’s lips on her neck and his strong hands on her stomach. He quickly moved his arms under her knees and back and picked her up, as he continued to kiss her and brought her up the spiral staircase to her bed. They began to undress each other fully, like teenagers afraid their parents would be home at any moment. Right now all either of them cared about was what was about to come.

Alex and Pam stood at her door, she held her bathrobe closed with one hand as he kissed her good-bye. “I’ll see you tomorrow in my office at ten am.” He whispered into her ear.

She giggled like a school girl before responding, “Yes, Mr. Montgomery.” His lips met hers again for a moment before he began his decent down the path.

Bungalow 6

Jeff turned off the evening news and walked past his picture window, something out of the corner of his eye made him stop and really look. His eyes widened and his jaw dropped Pam was kissing someone. He gasped as the man pulled away, “Alex?”

Opera House

“Come in.” Carlotta said to whoever was knocking at her door. She smiled at the handsome man that walked in. “Legolas. What can I do for you?”

He sat in a chair across from her. “I need your word on something.”

“Okay… What is it?”

“Before Julian left last time there were rumors, many rumors that he was going to replace me. I chose to brush them off and not confront you about it. But today I was walking to my dressing room and heard some chorus girls saying, ‘Now that Julian’s back we’ll be able to pull off The Magic Flute.’ Now Carlotta, I certainly did not leave L.A. or my sixty-thousand dollar an episode paycheck to be replaced by some untalented prick.”

“That’s where you’re wrong Legolas. Julian is a very talented singer and actor.”

He slammed his fist on her desk. “Damnit Carlotta! Think of all the crowds I bring in, all my fans that have followed me from City Street. Julian doesn’t have that kind of following, in the least. You need me, Kate’s gone, you need me to carry this opera. Just think of that. You precious opera is already getting bad press. Oh, or haven’t you read?” He unfolded the newspaper in his jacket. “Kate Harris hospitalized, Opera’s future in jeopardy.” He folded the paper back up and set it aside. “You need me Carlotta, don’t you forget it.” He rose and walked out of her office.

Windsor Hall

Sam and one of the other boys in the hall carried Ricky into the room. He was half past out and half conscious. Really knowing nothing that was going on around him. “Have I told you about my roommate? His name is beer boy. He’s from Colorado.” The boys put him on his bed lying on his stomach, before positioning a trash can next to him.

“Did I ever tell you about the pink donkey I saw tonight?” he asked as the boys turned off the light, leaving Ricky to talk to himself.

“Thanks.” Sam said to his neighbor. “I’m sorry I for got your name.”

“No biggie, I’m Evan.”

“Sam” he said as he shook the other’s hand.

Ginger Sky Apartments

Peter was rushing around the apartment looking for his shoes before he went to Max’s when someone began knocking on the door.

“Eddie, I told you not to lose your key!” he yelled as he opened it and saw Abigail. “Abigail! What are you doing here?”

She crossed her arms over her chest, “Peter, I want to make sure you’re alright. Why haven’t you done it yet?”

Peter leaned his head back and shook it, “I haven’t felt ready yet Abigail, I know I hurt you all that time ago, and I’ll probably end up hurting you now. But please help me with this.”

“Are you sure you’re gay? Because you know we never had sex, and well maybe you’re just afraid you won’t be satisfying for a female and you therefore insert your feelings onto a man.”

Peter rolled his eyes, “I’m pretty positive I’m gay Abigail.” He said as he looked at her and noticed she was wearing a raincoat. “Is it raining?”

Abigail shook her head and smiled as she closed the door. “Nope, its not. I actually have a few things to add to this arrangement Peter.”

His eyes grew larger as he watched her remove the coat, “what kind of things?”

She let the coat fall to the floor and revealed she had only a black bra and thong on. “Well, could we at least test my theory Peter?”

“Abigail, I have plans tonight. I have a date.”

She walked over to him and ran her fingers along the buttons of his shirt, “Well I could just wait for you to come back. I have only one goal this evening, to seduce you Peter Montgomery, once and for all.”

Peter leaned against the couch, “I don’t know how late I’ll be.” He said.

“Like I said, I’ll wait for you Peter. All night long if I have to. I’ve waited many years already.”

Ginger Falls Medical Center

Paula walked into Kate Harris’ hospital room. Bouquets of flowers filled the room. She snapped a bud off of a nearby yellow rose arrangement. “Makes me sick. As if you weren’t stealing enough attention away from me as it is.” She walked over towards the bed. “Carlotta named me your replacement.” She gazed at the plug in the wall. “And I intend on making it permanent.” She reached for the plug when the door opened.

“Don’t tell me you were going to pull that.”

She whipped around. “Oh Julian.” She placed a hand on her chest. “You startled me.”

“Tell me Paula, if I would have walked in a few seconds later you would have pulled that plug, right?”

“Please. If that was Legolas in that bed you’d do the same thing.”

He thought for a brief second. “Yeah, probably. But I’d be more intelligent about it. Darling, they’d find your fingerprints on that plug. Come on, let’s go, I’ll take you to your house.”

She wrapped her arms around his waist and softly kissed his neck. “Yeah, let’s go to my house.”
