I found my experience on the Grojo mud to be very positive and one of great entertainment. On this mud I played a character named Echo, and went well beyond the minimum requirements that were set out for us. |

Once I started playing it took me awhile to become accustomed with the ideas and functioning's of the game, but once I figured them out, I was hooked. I found the mud to be an extremely friendly environment, and became quickly aware of why some people become so addicted with these virtual realities. |

These games on the outside appear to be strictly for entertainment value, much like video games, but in reality are much more. They present people with a place where they fit in without any questions, and as I found, a sense of belonging, particularly once I joined a guild. I found the mud to be humorous and relaxing, where quite often I found myself laughing harder than playing. |

One other topic was one that we discussed in the beginning of the year, and that was the inequalities of the sexes on these games. I found that certain male characters were very willing to help me in my adventures, and were making advances, even so far to be asked if they could be my 'online' boyfriend.. At first it was kind of flattering, and helpful, but in the end it did get slightly annoying as I wanted to discover on my own. However, overall the Mud adventure was still very interesting and fun, and one that I will be continuing with. |
