Come and learn about the world of Ginger.... When she passed away on July 22, 2004 she was a female 10 year old long coated chihuahua. Here is a picture of Ginger. Her favorite things to do were taking a walk with her daddy, then sleeping for the rest of the day. Like all chihuahuas she loves being our little alarm...she loved to let us know when there's anything unusual around like people, other animals, birds and flying objects.

Ginger's the color of ginger snap cookies hence her name. She also loved to snap at gnats when she goes outside. On her walks, in Virginia, she chased the ducks and geese, which were glad she's on a leash and couldn't catch them, then she pranced all the way home proud of herself. Here in North Carolina, she barked at the cats, squirrels, and birds.

She had several toys that she loved to play with...they consist of stuffed toys, rawhides, and old clean socks. The stuffed toys are small enough for her to drag all over the house and the socks have knots in them for her to chew on or play tug of war with....which she cheats at.

We, her family, consisted of Lady, Emmy, Ginger's Dad, and I. We have finally moved from yucky ole Virginia(just my opinion) back down to good ole North Carolina. Ginger adjusted very well, she loved the yard and the front porch(more sunshine patches). She had several playmates at my parent's house, which comprise of now just one scotty(oldest scotty has gone to rainbow bridge,in the winter of 1998,she was twelve and the male scotty passed away of cancer in the fall of 2001), five chihuahuas, one mixed breed poodle (the other has gone to rainbow bridge, she was almost seventeen years old),one playful minature poodle(newest addition to parents household and Lady's nemesis), one mini smooth coated dachshund( she's in sister's family and a thorn in Ginger's side), a second mini dapple smooth coated dachshund, mixed breed big long coated big black dog, and a yorkie. After, visiting them(when we lived in Virginia) she was a little worn out, and rested for at least a week. We haven't finished settling in totally yet but they are enjoying their backyard. Our newest addition was added around May 1st, Emmy, she's a long coated chihuahua puppy. Ginger tolerated the newest munchkin well as long as Emmy didn't get on her bed...LOL

Her diet was a well balanced puppy food but, she'd eat anything....she loves fruits and vegetables. She'll attack you for a small bite of cheese, her most favorite sinful food. She passed away early in the morning, lying next to me in bed, after a brief illness that was diagnosed as a tumor. She didn't make it to surgery day. We shall all miss her very much.
