We considered the various types of RVs, finally deciding that a fifth wheel trailer would be the best for us. We knew we wanted a quality unit with lots of creature comforts. We found everything we were looking for in a 2003 HitchHiker Champagne Edition. It just took my breath away the moment we walked in the door! We took possession on Oct. 1, 2002. That same weekend, we attended "Life on Wheels" in Des Moines, followed by a 2 day driving course at DMACC. I highly recommend both! We joined Escapees and use their mail forwarding service. We bought a Sprint wireless connection card for the laptop, so we can stay connected most places. We had a satellite dish installed on the roof at Camping World and have a cell phone. Ahhhh, life is good!
Our journey began in Minnesota and we spent some wonderful, snowy Fall days near the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. Our journey concluded in Panama City Beach Florida, where we stayed for 6 wonderful weeks. We were told of another project in Des Moines and arrived here the day after a big snowstorm. Talk about going from one extreme to another!
We love our HitchHiker and we love our lifestyle! We've been able to visit our children, travel and still stay in our own home all along the way.
