Traveling Ginny's Diary

OHIO

Date: Fri Mar 23, 2001 10:51am

Dear Ginny Friends,

I'm so sorry that I have been neglecting my letter writing duties! Traveling Ginny (T. Ginny) arrived on my doorstep on Monday, March 19th, all safe and sound! She had lots of stories to tell of her adventures in New Jersey with Janice and the girls!

I have been suffering with a terrible cough, no cold symptoms, and hope that I do not give T. Ginny. The weather has been cloudy and today it is rainy. I hope that the weather clears up this weekend so we can get out and see a few places!

T. Ginny will be heading to Linda in Arizona. I will get her in the mail on Monday, March 26th, since her arrival was a wee bit late. That should still get her to her destination on time!

Love to all from T. Ginny, my girls and me!

Just thought you all might like to see T. Ginny, Jill and Ginny (Debby's originial dolls from childhood) visiting Jane and Ginny at ballet classes. She brought along her trunk and carrying cases (the apple) for show and tell.  T. Ginny got these items from her Nebraska friends!

Dear Diary,

Today T. Ginny, Jill and Ginny went to the Floyd Monument. This marker was dedicated to the only member of the Lewis and Clark expedition who died. Sgt. Charles Floyd died from appendicitis in August of 1804. The monument is on a bluff overlooking the Missouri River.

The picture shows the girls on the overlook of the Missouri River, just south of Sioux City, Iowa and east of South Sioux City, NE. North Sioux City, SD is a few miles to the northwest of where they are standing. Debby had been waiting for clear skies so that she could get a good sunset picture, but the weather has not cooperated all week.

For those of you who do not know Jill and Ginny, they are the two dolls that Debby had as a child. Jill and Ginny both went to Mary Lou's last summer. Jill was the chaperone for the get-together!

More pictures and stories to follow!

Hello to one and all!

Today Ginny took T. Ginny to the garden and introduced her to all of her friends. It's amazing how everyone looks alike! In celebration of the first day of spring, T. Ginny was given a basket of flowers from Ginny's garden. Too bad there is still snow in Debby's garden area. Lucky Ginny doesn't have any weeds in her garden, either! You might note that a tree grew in the garden since you last saw it! Amazing!!!
Too bad T. Ginny was wearing her good outfit. She would have loved to have climbed the tree and chase the squirrel, but she knew that wouldn't be very ladylike!

T. Ginny and Ginny played Mouse Trap last night. Ginny gave T. Ginny a nightgown that matches her nightgown so that they can be "twins"! The night gown has the blue script tag so is probably from 1957 - 1965.

Today Ginny, Jill and all the Spencer girls gave T. Ginny a bedspread. Everyone who is hosting T. Ginny on her adventures has their name and state on the spread. This will remind T. Ginny of all her wonderful friends. Jeff has sent along a blueprint on how to make a bed for Ginny so that the bedspread can be put on it.

Well, since today is the last day that T. Ginny is spending in Nebraska, a party was held in T. Ginny's honor. Ginny stands to thank everyone for the fun she has had and can hardly wait for her next adventure to begin.
