MARY A. JOHNSON
1836-1874
Mary was born April 1, 1836 in Dekalb County, Georgia, the third child of Elizabeth and Andrew Johnson.  She lost her mother when she was only 14 years old and two years later, her father died when she was only 16.  On November 13, 1851,at the age of 15, she married Dr. John L. Hamilton, Jr.  in Dekalb County.  About this time, she met her future sister-in-law, Virginia Eugenia Emerson, who happened to be living at her father Andrew's hotel.

Mary died at the age of 38 on February 17, 1874.  She is buried in the Stone Mountain City Cemetery, Stone Mountain, Georgia.
GEORGE JOHNSON
1839-?
George was born in 1839.  He was the fourth child of Andrew and Elizabeth Johnson.  He lost his mother when he was eleven and his father, when he was thirteen.

Possibly, after his parents died, he lived with his older brother William and his wife, Penelope and moved with them to Carrollton, GA.  SInce Carrollton is close to the Georgia-Alabama state line, this might explain why George is buried in the Johnson Cemetery in Alabama.
