MARY A. JOHNSON
1836-1874
Mary was born April 1, 1836 in Dekalb County, Georgia, the third child of Elizabeth and Andrew Johnson.  She lost her mother when she was only 14 years old and two years later, her father died.  At the age of 15, she married Dr. John L. Hamilton, Jr. on November 13, 1851 in Dekalb County, Georgia.  About this time, she met her future sister-in-law, Virginia Eugenia Emerson, who happened to be living at her father, Andrew's, hotel.

Mary died at the age of 38 on February 17, 1874.  She is buried in the Stone Mountain City Cemetery, Stone Mountain, Georgia.
GEORGE JOHNSON
1839-?
George was born in 1839.  He was the fourth child of Elizabeth and Andrew Johnson.  He lost his mother when he was 11 years old.  In 1852, when he was only 13, his father died.

Possibly, aftrer his parents died, he lived with his older brother, William, and his wife, Penelope, movinig with them to Carrollton, Georgia, sometime after 1857.  Since Carrollton is close to the Georgia-Alabama state line, this probably explains why he was buried in the Johnson Cemetery in Alabama.
