Dutchess County Historian Update

January 12, 2005

January 12, 2005 [Postmarked January 14, 2005 - Poughkeepsie, NY]

Dear Ms. Buechele,

Thank you for your letter regarding the position of County Historian as
proposed in my 2005 budget.  As you know the budget adopted by the County
Legislature diminished some of this funding however I am delighted to report
that the position will be re-instated this year and I am writing to keep you
abreast of our plans.

At this time we expect to begin discussing future plans for the County
Historian in early February.  At that time we will contact the appropriate
constituencies to communicate and develop plans for this office.

I will be back in touch with you at that time.  I too agree the history of
Dutchess County needs to be embraced and preserved.  Thank you for your
support on this matter.

Sincerely,

Bill Steinhaus [his signature]
