INDIA

That's me in Kashmir, India (in 2000), right after I arrived, having spent a whole day and night in a bus. I do look happy, don't I? That's 'cos I could take a hot bath after about a week of cold showers... Me and my bike. This was taken on my way to Bodhgaya, a Buddhist center. I don't look very happy on this one, 'cos the roads in India are ehm, non-existent, and believe me, my bottom had never hurt worse! :-) Me on a houseboat, where I stayed, with the owner's son Altaf. A nice guy, and a beautiful houseboat! Resting and reading on the houseboat... Kashmiri mountains. Pakistan is right behind that mountain! Luckily, no Scudds while I was there! :-) Local kids in Srinagar.. That's again in India, in the Rajastan desert. I spent a week in the desert, riding around on my camel Moria (and with a guide). It took me about a day to get used to the rather unnatural swing, that you're forced to when riding a camel, but once you get used to it, it's fun! Still in the Rajastan desert... eating what my guide cooked, and enjoying it a lot! A snake charmer in Delhi. Do you see that snake on the left running away?? Taj Mahal - no comments needed.. Varanasi - doing the laundry in the Ganga river.. Buddhist town - Buddhagaya, a street begger... My spiritual brother Rahul..
VIETNAM

That's in Vietnam (trip in 1998). I didn't even need a driver's licence to drive this bike. You don't need one up to 175cc! Floating houses on a lake in mid-Vietnam.. The Ho Chi Min trail.. Local kids on a beach.. Market - selling anything you can imagine.. Mike with a boy in a Buddhist temple in Saigon.. Rise fields in mid-Vietnam.. A boy resting on a pole.. Transportation of goods on the river.. Traffic
AFRICA

South Africa (trip in 1999) with local kids. Cape Town - parks under the Table Mountain.. Typical African countryside.. Heading for the mountains.. Kissing an ostrich :-).. And riding an ostrich! :-).. My brother Mike and friend Daniela in a Zulu village.. On the top of the Lions Head, Cape Town.. A prison on the Robben Island - thats where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned.. Enjoying a swim in the African tropical heat.. Township near Johannesburg..
THAILAND

A rafting trip in Northern Thailand (2001) One of hundreds of Buddhas in Thailand, Sukhotai Huts on poles on the Thai-Lao border, Mae Sariang A trip on the Lao-Thai-Burmese border river.. The guide kept repeating ´One photo, one bullet´:-) We got it.. no picture-taking.. Burmese refugees earning their living by being a tourist attraction - a long-neck woman Isnt this one a beauty queen? :-) Happy Beach on Ko Chang, Thailand, where I spent last 10 days of my trip. The Happy Beach..like a fairy tale, dont you think?
LAOS

On the road in Laos with my Norwegian friend June (2001) Vang Vieng - rolling down the river on inflated tires..
CAMBODIA

Angkor Wat at sunrise (Cambodia 2002) One of the stunning gates to the Angkor Wat complex.. Right bellow the very top of Angkor Wat. I climbed up, but the steps were so bloody steep, that I almost didnt get back down! Ta Phrom in Angkor Wat - the trees were grown in the walls! Looked like from an Indiana Jones movie!!! The Killing Fields near Phnom Pheng, the capital of Cambodia. Thats were the Red Khmers killed thousands of people. The holes were mass graves..
