This is intended as an introduction to Hidden & Dangerous 2. If you don't even know what that is, HD2 is a military game of the 3D virtual-reality sort, developed by a Czech design team as a followup to the earlier Hidden & Dangerous game, which was an amazing accomplishment in its day but was made rather obsolete by advances in computer technology.

HD2 is sometimes classified as a "first-person shooter" game, and technically this is correct but there is much more to it than that. One European review called it a "thinkshooter" which is more to the point; the game requires sophisticated and sometimes intricate tactical planning, not just a fast trigger finger.

I call it a "sneakshooter", somewhat facetiously to be sure but there really is a strong element of stealth and deception in the game. They don't call it Hidden & Dangerous for nothing, after all.

Probably most visitors to this site will be primarily interested in the walkthroughs, but have a look around if you've got the time.

This is not a fan site. I admire and enjoy the game but not uncritically; there are things I don't like and I say so. Some of the fanboys may take offense. Said fanboys may kiss my ass.

Which brings up another point: this is not a site for children or Nellies. It contains language which may offend some. That anyone would be morally offended by a few harmless words, but not by simulated acts of extreme violence and bloodshed, baffles me - Christ, we're talking about pretending to shoot and stab people and blow them up and you're bent out of shape because somebody said shit - but if you're in that group, you have been warned and I don't want to hear any complaints.

Finally, this is not about online or multiplayer playing. I know nothing of such matters; if I want to interact with other people online I know where to find a porn chat room...so this is strictly about HD2 in single player mode.

Repeat, for the careless reader and the hopelessly thick: THIS IS A SINGLE PLAYER SITE. THERE IS NOTHING HERE FOR THE ONLINERS AND THE MULTIPLAYERS. I think there are sites devoted to these matters. Try Google.
