Recent Consulting Experience
Worked as a consultant with Cognizant Technology Solutions(CTS) in their Software Developement
Center, India, July-December, 1998.
Projects include:
Data Warehousing Solution Center:
Worked with the team of senior managers in the
establishment of the solution center. My focus was more on data warehousing methodologies
especially in requirements gathering. Also, worked on a data warehousing project for a
silicon valley market research firm.
Software Engineering and Capability Maturity Model[CMM]:
Participated in the
organization's efforts to attain level 4 of the Software Engineering Institute's CMM.
Worked in setting up a goal-oriented metrics policy document and also provided advice on
use and analysis of software metrics. Also, I provided a training session to senior
management as part of the level 4 assessment preparation. CTS was assessed to be at
level 4 of the CMM model.
Training:
Was a consultant to the training manager on several areas including new
recruit training, training materials and curriculum among others. Created a video-based training
on data warehousing. Also provided several training seminars on data warehousing.
Recruiting:
Conducted interviews with the data warehousing solution center and
the human resources department. My role was limited to the assessment of the technology
areas of the candidates and providing my input to CTS management.
Possible Consulting areas
Possible areas include:
Requirements gathering and systems design, software developement methodology(such as Rapid
Application Developement/Joint Application design, UML, use case), software engineering and
project management, training, database management and data warehousing areas,
Object-oriented Developement, Capability Maturity Model and Software Process Improvement,
and Global Software Developement.
Other areas can be determined based on subsequent discussion with the organization.
