Your first days on Waffle Island are spent in the Sundae Inn and Souffle Farm, working and talking with the Waffle Islanders.

When you put "New Game" on, you have to choose if you want to be the boy or the girl character.

At the beginning, you're on a ship, along with Captain Pascal. He will ask you your name, your birthday and your favorite food. In the food you can choose "Vegetables are great!", "Scrambled eggs are delicious!" or "I love any kind of fish!". In the birthday thing, you can choose either Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter, and as for the number, you can choose Early, Middle or Late.
A storm will hit while you're on the boat and you'll get knocked out.

That night, you will dream of a beautiful and angelic lady with wings (I'm not gonna spoil it for you if you don't know). In the dream, all she'll say is: "....................................................................................................................."The next morning you will wake up in the Sundae Inn, where you'll meet Colleen, Jake and Yolanda. Jake'll say Mayor Hamilton wanted to talk to you once you were up and running. Walk outside and you'll meet up with Hamilton, the mayor of Waffle Island.
He asks you if you want a tour and if you say yes he will give you a quick rundown of Waffle Town.
Then you have to meet everyone (there at that time) in Waffle Town: Barbara and Simon from the General Store, Jin and Irene from the Meringue Clinic, Gill, Hamilton's son, Ozzie and Pascal from On The Hook and Elli from the Town Hall. After greeting everyone, go back to Hamilton and he will say that you're probably tired and you should go to sleep.

On Spring 2nd (yes, the day after that), Hamilton will meet up with you and bring you to Souffle Farm, located in the Ganache Mine District. There you will met Craig, Ruth and their daughter Anissa. There Craig will tell you to pluck the weeds from the strawberry patch and water the crops. You will sleep in the Souffle Farm farmhouse that night.

On Spring 3rd, Craig will teach you how to ship things. He will tell you to ship the strawberries from the patch and then, when you finish, go to Ruth and she'll ask you to deliver strawberries to people who live in the Maple Lake District area. When you're done with that, you will sleep in the Souffle Farm farmhouse again.

On Spring 4th, you will dream about the lady again and she will plead you to help. Hamilton will be in the farmhouse when you wake up, and he will tell you that your house is finished! You can choose the Seaside plot, the Town Plot and the Hillside Plot. What changes is location. Unlike HM: MM (Harvest Moon: Magical Melody) the soil condition does not change.
You will tell Hamilton and Ruth about the lady you dreamt about and he will think it hard, suggest something, and then say: "Never mind.".
Hamilton will leave the farmhouse and then, just as you were about to leave, Ruth gives you 220 G and a sack of potato seeds for your hard work! (How handy!) Craig will give you a hoe, too.
Now you have a house!
And you can go almost anywhere on Waffle Island!

During the first three days you can not save your game as you please. You can save in between days. When you get your house there's a diary beside your bed. You can save as you please from Spring 4th and on and on throughout the game!
