What's new pussy cat?
Isaak: Right now, a new surfboard and plenty of gigs.

What's going on?
Isaak: I just finished my new album called Forever Blue. It's thirteen songs about one girl.  My other albums have been about a variety of things, but these songs are all about one relationship.  Now that I'm done, it's kind of a concept album, but when I started it was just cheaper than therapy.

Where did you sleep last night?
Isaak: My house.  It's got two bedrooms.  Now that I'm alone, I sleep in a different bedroom than the one my girlfriend and I used to be in.

Do you believe in magic?
Isaak:
All that comes to mind is that my producer Erik Jacobsen, produced that song.  He did all the Lovin' spoonful's hits, so I know all the inside dirt on the band.  There isn't much though, they were a group of good kids.

What would you do if I sang out of tune?
Isaak:
Sign him up!

Who do you love?
Isaak:
Connie Francis and my mom.

How long has this been going on?

Isaak: Well, my band's been together for ten years this month.  I think I'll  have a celebration -buy everyone chicken McNuggets.

Who wrote the book of love?
Isaak:
Sylvia Plath.

How deep is your love?
Isaak: Oh, beaucoup deep.

Hey, have you ever tried really reaching out to the other side?
Isaak: I think everybody thinks about suicide, but for me that's off the agenda. Number one, I'm Catholic and they won't let me in heaven if I do.  I worked in a funeral home in college and I saw people brought in body bags. They'd lay them out on the table and put a little rubber wedge beneath their head. I always thought they should take you there when you're twenty and have that I don't care if I die James Dean syndrome.

Who lives in your house today?
Isaak:
I'm always on the road, so usually one of my brothers.

Does anybody really know what time it is?
Isaak:
(Sigh) Does anybody really care?

If we can solve many problems, why do we lose so many tears?
Isaak: I don't know really, but it's breakin' my heart.

Are you lonesome tonight?

Isaak: I'm in LA. Nobody is lonely in L.A. And I'm going surfing at seven o'clock. Surfing is like adjusting your mind. It's a really cheap fun way to get rid of tension. Plus, it looks macho being in that rubber suit.

Is that all there is?

Isaak: Yep, so let's keep dancing.
