The layout of the Girnoc has changed little in the two-hundred years that have passed since this estate plan left the draughtsman's hand. Yet the bustling 'farm-touns' are no longer, replaced by ghostly stone footprints and slowly reclaimed by nature.
Waulk Mill is now known as Littlemill. Mill of Quoch is now known as Mill of Cosh. Linquoch was deserted before 1800 and Newton quickly followed suit. Loinveg took over the mantle and survived until recent times.
