In this trip, our GIS team aims to carry out a river study, where we will get to see some river features.

We also wish to use our knowledge to help a poor hilltribe village in Northern Thailand.  We will be deployed in a CIP (Coummunity Involvement Programme) project, laying 1.2 km of pipe to supply water to a hilltribe village (Baan Kaeng Toon).  We have to examine the water quality before we pipe water to the hilltribe village.  The system will play an essential role in the lives of the hilltribe people as water will become easily accessible, thus promoting personal hygiene and improving their quality of life.  This project is designed in hope to foster team spirit and friendship among the students, and to build character through involvement of coummunity services in foreign land.  This project will also provide the opportunity for us to apply our knowledge in a real-life situation.

Above all, we will be given a chance to experience a different culture, so that we can better appreciate all that we have back home.
