![]() Aston Villa have completed the signing of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Kevin Nolan in a deal worth around £5,000,000. The combative central midfielder started his GI career at Bolton Wanderers before sealing a suprise £12,000,000 move to local rivals Wigan Athletic. Following a fairly successful spell at the JJB Stadium, Spurs snapped up Nolan in an £11,000,000 transfer. Since then, the player has never really settled in London and has struggled to break into the first team at White Hart Lane. He is expected to provide back-up for the first team at Villa Park, covering for the likes of Michael Carrick and Andres Iniesta. ![]() Preston North End striker Djibril Cisse has rejected rumours linking him with a move to Tottenham, saying hes happy to remain at Deepdale. Speculation is rife that Spurs are keen to add another striker to their squad to partner Thierry Henry. One name that is doing the rounds is Nicolas Anelka but now, another Frenchman, Djibril Cisse is being linked with a big money move to White Hart Lane. The former Marseille star has been on good form for The Lilywhites this season and in an interview with the GI Times, he stated his desire to remain with the club, saying he owes manager Mario Been for having faith in him. French star Henry is eager to link-up with old pal Anelka again and is desperate for Spurs to go out and make an enquiry for the ex-Arsenal and Real Madrid ace. Speaking to the GI Times and asked who he'd like to see arrive at Whit Hart Lane in the coming weeks, Henry was quick to suggest the majestic Anelka, whos been on good form since returning to the City of Manchester Stadium.
