GIT celebrates NUTRITION MONTH CELEBRATION
      The month of July is  considered the month of Nutrition with the theme:  " Batang May kinabukasan sa wastong Nutrisyon simulan.  Presidential Decree No. 491 created the  Nutrition Month Law which aims to have greater awareness about the importance of Nutrition.

       GIT for that purpose has lined up various activities like the holding of Collage Making Contest, Search for Mr. and Miss Nutrition, Nutri quiz and the culminating program. At the Culminating program on July 29, 2005 , the whole day undertaking would showcase the talents of the students in the area of cooking, nutrition booth and awarding the same the winners of various competititons.

       The whole month Nutrition Month celebration is ably headed by Mr. Roel Santiago Flores, a high school THE teacher duly assisted by various faculty in the gradeschool, highschool and college Department.

DepEd Gingoog holds EDUCATION SUMMIT
     No less than the School President of Guevarra Institute of Technology  attended the 4th Mindanao TVET Human Resource Skills Develepoment Summit on July 12-14, 2005 at Marvella Plaza Hotel, Koronadal City, South Cotabato. The  summit is participated by more or less 150 school tvet administrators, TESDA  leaders and stakeholders.

    The summit is graced by the presence of Deputy Director General Milagros Hernandez of Technical Education Skills Development  Authority. Various resource speakers from Manila expounded the importance of technical education  in the challenges of times. The equivelancy and ladderization program of TESDA with CHED is discussed thoroughly inorder to serve the greater majority of the clients.

    Mr. Guevarra, GIT School President is privileged enough to be one of the board members of the Mindanao TVET , an orgainzationof all Technical Institutions in Mindanao.
     The Department of Education Gingoog City Division  holds the First Education Summit on July 6, 2005 at the Social hall, DepEd Division Office, Gingoog City with the primary motive of inspiring the education institutional leaders and NGOs in Gingoog City to work hand in hand to provide quality education to the students.

       The public school intends to have their pupils read efficiently with comprehension by Grade 3. In most private schools, preschoolers  can already write and read sentences . Dr. Myrna Motoomull stresses the Schools First Initiative where every school administrator is empowered to undertake measures to make his school progressive and competetive in the advent of Global Competition. The Supirentendent also emphasize the Adapt the School Program of which NGOs and private schools are encouraged to adapt a program where public teachers could in a way avail its services. For that matter, Guevarra Institute of Technology is seriously considering to provide free computer training to a number of public scool teachers  during summer of 2006.
   Miss Michelle P. Guevarra , a third year high school student of GIT dares to become the Miss Tourism 2005 on July 22, 2005 at the ASL Gym, Gingoog City. Quite an ambitious undertaking but Micmic as fondly called by hier friends is not afraid to compete her beauty and talent among other aspiramts in the city of Gingoog and nearby localities.

    The annual search for Miss Tourism is participated by 14 lovely ladies sponsored by various agencies and establishments. For GIT, the school participation into this pageant would pose a challenge to the faculty and staff of the institution to develop students imbued with character and wisdom. Indeed the beauty outside is just the reflection of what's inside. Press on Micmic !

   
GIT President spearheads the MOAPTBET General Assembly
   The Misamis Oriental  Association of Private/Public  Technology based Educational Training Institutions  for the past three years have been active in promoting the interests of private and public technical vocational institutions in Misamis Oriental. Composing of more or less 30 member institutions, this year general assembly and induction of officers will be held at Siam Foundation , Inc. at Cagayan de oro City on July 21, 2005. For the second time  around, GIT School President , Mr. Enrique S. Guevarra is reelected again to spearhead the group for the next three years. Mr. Guevarra got also reelected last February 2005 as the Chairman of the Provincial Technical Education Skills Development Committee of Misamis Oriental.

     This years MOAPTBET General Assembly is bearing the theme: "Harnessing  School resources to produce globally competetive workforce graduates.
