| On march 1960 Ruben & Lorine Lyles were the proud parents of Shelia J lyles from Athens Ala little did they know what God had in store for Shelia. How It All Begin God has been so good to me i can truley say, I remember laying in bed waking up to some screaming and my neighbor at my bed side the screams i heard was mama she was out side she had found my sister linda dead in bed we shared the same room and that was the starting point with me we don't know when we are going to leave this world it was then and there i realized it could have been me that died and i would have died lost , God has brought me through so much i begin to get tired of the life i was living drinking, drugs, i was searching for something and these things were not fillling that desire in me to be filled drugs had such a hold on me i think of a time i had worked out in the field hoeing green beans i recived my pay for it i took my money went and bought some drugs knowing we didin't have very much food at all if any. i tell this it's not something im proud of but i thank God he brought me from a life of sin not just those things the bible says all have sin and come short of the glory of God i could have been the nicest person in the world but i was still lost my righteouness is filthy rags. after my sister Lindas death i could not even stay in the apt any more so we moved to morris ill where my bro mike lyes and sister nadine larsen lived i was ready for a change in my life i was ready to give myself to God thats when i started attending first united pentecostal church in morris ill Kenneth Hutton was my pastor it was there i realized God's so great salvation plan acts 2: 38 and peter said unto them repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of jesus christ for the remission of your sins and ye shall recive the gift of the holy ghost and that's when i started living when i repented, i recived the holy ghost and was baptized in the precious name of jesus, and the age of 21 To Our Youth i want to say this to our young people if you have not been involved in drugs and drinking and such things i want to say this it is as much as a blessing to be kept from those things as to be delivered from them young people you are precious in god's site you can relate to a young person where we adults may not can look how God used david, samuel different ones, when i see young people worship and praise God wow!! my goodness something wells up inside me i know our kids are so much tempted with the things of this world but you can live for God in a world of peer preasure you are the only jesus some people may see I Had Know Ideal i had know ideal God would bring me where i am today singing in a southern gospel group that has been my hearts desire i count it a privalge to be doing what im doing it is my desire to minister in song if God can not minister thru me hey i might as well give it up there are people out there that are hurting and thru the song's i sing and my testimony i want them to know jesus loves them i belive with all my heart if it had only been one person he would have still went to the cross it wasent the nails that held him to that cross but it was his love for u and me When it Started With Bethel me and brenda and kevin and their kids were at a mall well we saw one of those booths where u could have ur picture took me and kevin and brenda had our picture took that was the first mention of a group being started and and short time after that bethel was formed with kevin hutton as manger of the group and brend hutton and myself shelia lyles at that time it was the three of us and now 2 of their kids are apart of bethel courtney hutton and brandon hutton they are a awesome addition we are so proud to have them with us i count it a privalge to be apart of this group Sincerely Shelia Lyles (BETHEL SINGING SOUTHERN GOSPEL) |
