Kromagg Dynasty Technology

The Kromaggs also use any additional new technology that they find, but this is the technology unique to them that we have seen thus far in the series.

MANTA SHIP

The Manta Ship is said to be "the peace ship" but is really anything but. The Manta Ship has two main functions, as a conventional aircraft and as a dimensional mass translocator. All Manta Ships are equipped with telepathic controls, standard nitrogen and oxygen mix air, transdimensional capabilities, and onboard monitoring systems. All ships but the stingray, or p-class ship have organic armor which rebuilds itself upon being damaged. They also are equipped with red laser stun rays and a shield powerful enough for anti-tank shells to just bounce right off.

 

As part of their power systems, all Manta Ships produce an electromagnetic pulse. This pulse is active for at least 100 miles, and interferes with other forms of interdimensional travel. So far, we only know of a few models of Manta Ships. The first and smallest being the stingray, or p-class ship. It holds one Kromagg, and is usually used against small renegade parties. The second is the Harbringer class. It is slightly bigger, and is used for things such as large battles, to drop ammo or other things during battle, or some are even used as personal transports for Generals and other high ranking Maggs. The largest, and most experimental is the Behemoth class. It is most likely the model that we saw in Requiem.  It is both capable of interdimensional and intertime travel. It can literally be at any place and any time. The ship itself is powered by a Racknor 6000 fusion power plant. The transdimensional and transtime drives are powered by human minds linked directly to these fusion power plants. Also, to move these machines, such a big wormhole is needed, that the Kromaggs were forced to line the ship with dark matter, as to avoid being ripped apart. The Behemoth is 3 times the size of a Harbringer class ship, and is used to do anything from setting up entire cities, moving whole populations, or even transporting smaller Manta Ships.
THE PARTICLE WEAPON
The Kromagg Dynasty was developing a Particle Weapon on Earth 147 and was close to perfecting it. The weapon had the unique ability to disrupt subatomic bonds in living human tissue. It took months for Kromagg scientists to resonate the specific DNA code of Homo-Sapien organisms. The Kromaggs used human test subjects to modify the weapon's accuracy. Had the weapon not been sabotaged, the Particle Weapon would be used as revenged to exterminate every Homo-Sapien on every alternate world the Kromaggs have visited thereby committing genocide. As Kromanus puts it, "We will use whatever means necessary to regain the Home World!" However, Quinn adjusted the weapon to target Kromagg tissues and when it was used by Sub-Commander Krolak, it vaporized all the Kromaggs on Earth 147 and the weapon itself.

THE VORATON DEVICE
The ultimate anti-Kromagg weapon, the Voraton device was unleashed on the homeworld to get rid of the Kromaggs. It, when activated, manipulates the harmonics of the earth's iron mantle to a specific frequency. The result is a discharge of vibrations specifically targeted to Kromagg physiology. Another side effect of this device, is that it wreaks havoc on the ecosystem of the planet it is used on, and also, any Kromagg female who survives this will dies 2 months after she gives birth. This device is the worst ever seen by any civilization, and is the worst fear of the Kromaggs.
ENERGY SHOTGUNS
The shotguns used by the current Kromaggs emit a focused beam of of high energy particles which is generated by a core of magnetically shielded nobelium. If the blast from this weapon does not kill you, then the radiation poisoning from the nobelium will. That made this weapon that of choice among the dynasty.
LASER PAIN INDUCERS
These devices are used in interrogation. They apparently produce a laser beam which cooks the person from the inside out, a very painful procedure.

INTERROGATION TECHNIQUES

The Kromaggs incorporate several tactics to break down a prisoner's psyche and compel them to reveal the truth. During the Sliders first encounter with the Kromagg Dynasty on Earth 113, the Sliders were locked in a force field prison and forced to undergo such techniques as interruption of sleep, sensory depredation through the lack of windows and clocks, illusions & hypnotic suggestions. Wade was strapped to a rotating chair as bright multi-colored lights flash in her face as the Kromaggs interrogated her and threaten to kill Quinn. The Professor saw an illusion of Remmy in the cell right next to him. The Kromaggs used a double of Remmy's dad to pry information out of Remmy about the location of Earth Prime. As for Quinn, the Kromaggs employed a two stage interrogation technique.
Stage 1
The primary technique is "The Carrot on the Stick" where the Kromaggs make promises and threats. All the while, the Kromaggs watch from the control room. If the prisoners still refuse to tell the truth, the prisoner proceeds to Stage 2.
Stage 2
Since Quinn is the most valuable member of the Sliding team, all the other Sliders would be killed. Quinn would then be transported to Kromagg Prime where torture and interrogation would proceeded until Quinn would reveal valuable information.
Newer technology include pain receptors attached to the temple that send a shock to the victim with a press of a button on a remote control. The Kromaggs also have the ability to create the illusion of a human face to trick the prisoner into thinking they're human, too. Both techniques were used on Quinn on Earth Prime. Interrogations are usually monitored by video cameras and the Kromaggs are always watching you.
On Earth 147, Maggie underwent a laser probe that burn the eyes of the victim.

QUANTUM PROBABILITY TRANSLOCATION
Quantum Probability Translocation or "sliding" was one of the most revolutionary technology to transform Kromagg society. The Kromaggs eventually learned the secret of sliding through "Smarter Quinn" who gave them the Sliding Equation. The Kromaggs also have the ability to control sliding and store Galactic Interdimensional Coordinates to return to different dimensions. Along with Galactic Interdimensional Coordinates, the Kromaggs have also developed Dimensional Maps. Quantum Probability Translocation is controlled by a device known as a Transdimensional Facilitator, which is most comparable to our Timer. 
The possession of sliding technology by Homo-Sapiens is strictly forbidden and punishable by death.
INTERDIMENSIONAL TRANSMISSION
Communication through the Multiverse is handled through interdimensional transmissions which allow video and audio feeds to cross the Multiverse to a specific dimension. The interdimensional transmission allow for terrific teleconferencing capabilities with minimal lag time.
KROMAGG MEDICAL LABS
Yes, they do have them, but I doubt you would want to be in one. These are primarily used to make humans...more cooperative, and they have many sedatives and torture devices to do the trick. These are probably most common on Earths which the Kromaggs are doing anti-human genetic tests on.
CYBERIADS
Cyberiads are specially engineered humans that use their minds and imaginations to control space, and to travel to any dimension, place, and time by mere thought. The Kromaggs were going to use many of these to get back to The Home World by linking their minds directly to the power plant of a Behemoth Class Manta, but Wade, the greatest cyberiad, stopped it all and destroyed the Behemoth Manta Ship and every Kromagg on that planet with it!

THE PROJECT
It is unclear what The Project on Earth 147 was experimenting on. Remmy hypothesized that it was genetic engineering, but it may be more likely the testing of the new Particle Weapon. Perhaps, it was a combination of both genetic experimenting, tests of chemical and biological weapons, and the testing of the Particle Weapon. POWs on Earth 147 were used as test subjects for The Project. Many of them were scarred from the war, atomic weapons, or biological weapons. Once captured, they were chained and placed in an overcrowded hospital ward. The test subjects would undergo a four phase experiment. Phase 1 and Phase 2 don't cause physical deformities. But as Penny recounts, the Kromaggs take you away and you come back different - if you come back at all! Apparently, Phase 3 causes deformities. During the experiment, Kromaggs use a large injection rod that has a dual purpose of branding a Kromagg symbol upon the skin and a needle that injecting you with a unknown fluid at the same time. Phase 4 sends the test subjects to "The Pit" where the Kromaggs test the Particle Weapon.
SPECTRAL SCAN
During the Decontamination Procedure, the Kromaggs employ a Spectral Scan to analyzed tissue for indication of residual radiation and bio-toxins. While on Earth 147, the Sliders had a Spectral Scan done on them and it was discovered that the Sliders had no residual radiation from nuclear weapons nor bio-toxins from chemical weapons which was hardly indicative of the local population Earth 147.
RETINAL SCAN
Retinal scans are used to secure sensitive sites at the Garrison on Earth 147. The scanner scans the eyes and allows only authorize personnel to have access to the room. It may be able to differentiate between Kromagg and Homo-Sapien eyes or allows access to eyes within it's database. However, the scan can be over-ridden by the Translucent Button Remote Control.
DNA SCAN
Rembrandt tells us in "Requiem" that he underwent one of these, and since he passes, was able to go on. What this test is used for is however mostly unknown, though I assume it is to make sure that the human is not infected with a disease meant to kill the Kromaggs, like was used in "The Seer."
TRANSLUCENT BUTTON REMOTE CONTROL
A small translucent button that Commander Kromanus wore on his uniform. It had the capability to remotely open handcuffs, turn on monitors, and over-ride the Retinal Scan with a simple touch of the button. When touched, the button glows green. It is assumed that only high-ranking officers get these buttons, and that they only work on a designated world, as precaution from being stolen or misused.
TRANSLUCENT BUTTON CARD
This card is used the same as the button, except it is used only in force fields. When it is swept through one of the force fields, that force field shuts down. I presume that the card could also be used in a special slot in a door to open it, and for other purposes.

GRAVITATIONAL SCIENCES


The Kromagg people are masters of gravity. That is also presumably why they are so advanced in sliding, since Quinn Mallory was doing anti-gravity experiments when he discovered sliding. The Kromaggs use gravity mostly as a way of keeping prisoners trapped, and they use force fields and even a sort of magnetism to do so.

ANTI-SLIDING DEVICE
The Kromaggs use these devices presumably on more advanced worlds, to prevent them from sliding away. These devices create force fields around wormhole entrances, and prevent escape. The downside is that they also prevent people from sliding to that world.
HOMING DEVICES
The Kromaggs have also developed homing devices that can track people throughout the Multiverse. One such device was taken from the crashed Manta Ship by The Professor and glowed and hummed as another Manta Ship tracked the Sliders to New France Earth.
Another homing device was implanted in Quinn Mallory so that the Kromaggs could track the Sliders to Earth Prime and the Home World. This device is very successful too, and helped lead the Kromaggs to the world in "The Young And The Relentless" and "The Dream Masters."
