Bio: Bumpy Johnson started out as a stickup man and eventually became a Bodyguard/Enforcer for "The Queen of Harlem", Stephanie St. Clair, but proved brainy enough to be moved up quickly into Lieutenant status, and rapidly picked up the ins and outs of running the numbers game, known in those days as "policy". The real Bumpy Johnson convinced the Stephanie that she couldn't stand against Dutch Schultz and got her to cede her power over to him(and was also a burglar instead of a holdup man). MY Bumpy got ambitious a little more quickly and decided to strike out on his own. While scouting out a suitable territory, he met up with the Yellow Kid (q.v.). Impressed by the Kid's brains and solidly planned schemes, he formed a partnership.

"Bumpy" is smooth, calculating, and a vicious opportunist, with the rare combination of brains, patience and ruthlessness that give him the capacity to wait for the right moment and strike effectively. Though he gave up being an Enforcer, he retains the Simple, Intimidating Glare that lets people know when he means business, he means =business=. (NOTE: This would NOT affect a roll or substitute for Enforcer, it's just an attitude/affectation kind of thing).

Clichés:
Armed Robbery-4 - The Art of the Holdup - Scouting out, Casing, Planning, and Executing Bank Jobs, Hijackings, Store Knockovers, etc. as well as the Getaway (oh yes, can't forget the getaway)
Fixer-3 - Arranging the outcomes of sporting events, elections, trials, and sentencings through bribery, coercion, and vote fraud. Figuring out who the key players are for any such scam and how best to work them. Knowing how to offer a bribe properly, digging up 'dirt' and weaknesses for coercion purposes when bribes don't work.

Distinguishing Marks: Particularly nondescript, which is to say his most distinguishing feature is his being astoundingly indistinguishable unless he chooses to be through clothes and manner.
Criminal Record: None. A combination of luck and skill has kept him one step ahead of the law - for now.

Bio: The Yellow Kid has been scamming with the best of them since the turn of the century, when he "interned" with some of the greatest con men of the day and turned up variants on the classic scams that won him acclaim from his fellow grifters. But his simple confidence schemes pulled on the farmers and working people of the great Midwest have borne little by way of big cash, and he has often had to take sizable losses on some of his hard-to-dispose earnings (jewelry, bonds, etc.) He decided to scope out a city big enough to have serious cash around and small enough to run scams without attracting large-scale attention. While riding the rails sizing up prospects, he ran into and formed a partnership with Bumpy Johnson. Impressed with Bumpy's drive and solid grasp of "business", he expanded his plans slightly to include the possibility of setting himself up with his own ongoing operation, and they formed a partnership.

The Yellow Kid is a brainy, compulsive scam artist obsessed with making the most amount of money from the least investment possible via the combination of his amazing charisma and acting ability and other people's greed overcoming their intelligence. He has mastered a number of personas of various income levels, regions and ethnicities, but still enjoys using his natural Harmless Kindly Old Man look.

Clichés:
Grifter-4 - Con man. Disguises, fast talk, sizing up marks and knowing a sucker from a troublemaker, distracting patter, palming and switching objects, acquiring, assessing, and passing off (NOT creating) quality forgeries and knockoff goods, etc.
Rackets-3 - Specializing in rackets associated with fraud and real money laundering schemes ( invasion of legitimate businesses for the purpose of "washing" ill-gotten gains, pinball/vending machines, jukeboxes, etc.) Current Legitimate Job: You're joking, right? There's a word for people with "real" jobs - it starts and ends with "S", and it rhymes with what I did to yer ma last night...
