Who Created the Museum?

My name is Arthur C. Anderson III and I created The Lost Museum of Sciences in October, 1995. My interest in the sciences has been long-lived and somewhat diverse; involving Astronomy, Physics, Natural History, Artificial Intelligence, etc. As a teenager, I had some experience as a volunteer museum worker and even assisted in the production of a planetarium program. In 1986, I earned a BA in Physics from Rutgers University with minors in Computer Science and Mathematics. I later went on to develop spacecraft navigation software while working for a NASA contractor. After experiencing health problems in 1991, I turned my attention to the Internet and discovered a wealth of fun and interesting resources.

In an effort to share my passion for exploration and discovery, I decided to create a kind of museum of museums. Surely, this web site mostly features links to other museum sites; however, I have gone to great length to present these museums in a museum-like environment. The graphics are inspired by the many museums I have visited in person, and the networked web pages attempt to mimic the architecture of an actual museum. The resulting web site is complicated enough to get lost in, yet presents organized collections of museums throughout the world.

I hope you enjoy The Lost Museum of Sciences. Thank you for visiting. Since November, 1997, Gladys A. Pineda is the Lost Museum of Science's administrator. Gladys is an honduran university professor who wants to share her passion for knowledge, since "knowledge must be universal", and everybody should have the same opportunity to acquire it
