Glantraeth got off to the best possible start as they took the lead after just 6 minutes, Kevin Roberts following up to score after his header from a Paul Rowlands’ cross had been saved.
The home side came back strongly with Glan keeper Marc Newbould going down quickly to block an effort from Lee Thomas then left winger Cearwyn Roberts drilled a shot just wide.
Emyr Rowlands then tried to catch Sean Pearson off his line with a volley from fully 40 yards on 23 minutes but the home keeper got back quickly to make a catch.
Llandudno drew level on 26 minutes and it was all too easy as a through ball from Cearwyn Roberts gave Jason Sadler a clear run on goal and his finish was clinical and Glan were almost behind three minutes later as a free kick from Cearwyn Roberts struck the underside of the bar before being cleared.
There were chances at both ends as the half-time whistle approached, Kevin Roberts having a shot saved and Paul Rowlands firing just wide while Andy Tower did well to get back and head clear a goal-bound shot from Tudno’s Jason Sadler. In the last action of the half Glan were a whisker away from going back in front as deep cross from David Hughes was met at the far post by Paul Rowlands but he couldn’t quite get the ball on target and it passed harmlessly wide.
With five minutes of the second period played the ball was deflected kindly into the path of Gareth Evans after an effort from Chris Boulton had been blocked and he found a spot inside a post just out of Newbould’s reach to give the home side the lead.
Glan’s response was a Chris Evans’ volley that was comfortably saved and a low shot from Chris Saxon that passed only a couple of feet wide.
Lee Thomas fired narrowly wide for the home side but although play had become scrappy Glantraeth were still well in this game and Tudno had a let-off on 69 minutes as Kevin Roberts charged down a clearance from keeper Sean Pearson, the ball rebounding inches the wrong side of a post.
Corey Sinnott tried a hopeful shot from 25 yards that didn’t trouble Pearson as the visitors finished strongly.
With Emyr Rowlands surging forward from defence in support and the fresh legs of Alan Jones and Tom Wyn Roberts introduced up front Glan were desperately looking for an equaliser as the final whistle approached but the home side hung on to take the points.
