Internet terminology can sometimes be confusing. I wouldn't advise walking
into a cybercafe and saying something like:
"Archie has a great new cyberpunk bandwidth. Does anyone know where the gateway is
to his domain?"
I think it's safe to say that this would end any possibility of conversation there.
After all, Archie isn't found in the comic strips any longer even though you can pay a great deal for some of
the old back issues on his comic books. On the internet, Archie is something else again.
Unless you're really initiated into the cyber culture, terms like cyberpunk, might mean something that comes
out of a bar one night with a really strange haircut. It might, but, on the internet it's something else.
With the war in Afghanistan fresh in our minds, the term Flame War Flame War, might bring up visions of old newsreel films
with GI's and flamethrowers walking through the hills.
