Kawana |
Glasshouse |
Won by 71 runs (Glasshouse 160
& Kawana 89) |
Amazing what a full compliment of
players can do to a side. Kawana won the toss and sent the home side in.
Quickly lost a few early wickets to be 2/14 before a 56 run partnership
between Rob Fullerton (35) and Greg Bond (18) steadied the ship. No one
else really got going until Scott "Bubba" Smith came in and made
a well compiled 56. Rangers were bundled out in the 33rd over for
160. Early wickets was the key and the Rangers did just that. At
4/17 the visitors looked shaky before the "Destroyer" Danny
Kelly came on and cleaned up with 3/23 off 7 overs. Good early bowling by
Rob Fullerton 2/18 off 7) Adrian Gilmore 2/19 off 6, Greg
"Jungle" Balkin 1/17 off 8 and Nusque Spanton 1/10 off 3. Great
catching especially by the skipper Jungle taking a screamer at first slip
(well straight forward chance for most people but a screamer for Jungle) |

Caloundra
|
Glasshouse |
Lost by 26 runs (Glasshouse 237
& Caloundra 263) |
The Spirit of Cobb & Co
5th division side had a real run chase with Caloundra. The
visitors put on 263 with Jonny Agostinellie taking 3 wickets, Rob Harvey
and Greg Balkin with two wickets each also bowling well. The Rangers were
in real bother at 4/20 odd before a great individual effort by Robert
Weekes almost got the home side home. Robert finished with 147 giving the
Rangers their first ton of the season. Unfortunately, the next best score
was by Stephen Forster with 19 not out. Rangers making 237. |
