The Andrews Sisters

    Born in Minneapolis Minisota, the Andrews Sisters, Patti LaVerne and Maxine were one of the most premire swing trios. The group was a very music prone one.
    
     In the year of 1935, the girls got thier start. The sisters sang on the S
aturday Night Swing Club broadcast. They produced 700 recordings and 9 of which were plated in 24 karot gold. The sisters sang songs like "Rum and Coca Cola," and "Oh Johney Oh" and "Bel Mir Bist Du Schoen"

     When the wheels of war began to turn, the girls joined the USO. They traveled and entertained troops. When the war ended, everything went back to normal.

     In 1950, the girls joined the Vic Schoen band, or the band joined them, By then they were battling with the new "Rock 'n Roll" music. In 1954, Patti left the group.

     The year was 1968, La Verne Andrews died of cancer. She was only 55 years old. In 1995, Maxine andrews was struck by a heart attack. She died at 79. Patti is still alive but she does not entertain much but she does the occasional cruise ship.

     As you read, the andrews sisters were one of the best singing groups of thier day and are still now.
