PROPAGATION
After the first set of true leaves form it is transplanting time. A flat stick like a popsickle stick is place under the seedlings and gently lifited to loosen the roots from the germination mix. Next the seedling is lifited by the codilydent leaves and placed into cell packs. Do not handle the stem or frst true leaves as this could crush and damage them. After transplanting water well with a week solution of 20-20-20 liquid fertilizer. We use 1 tbl. to 2.5 gallons of water.
On the left are newly transplanted pansies in cell packs. The flat on the right shows a seedling ready for transplanting. The plants should be shaded for the first couple of days after transplanting.
This is a picture of the pansies at 25 days after sowing. They will be grown on at 60 degree night time temperture and 70 degrees day time. It is important not to let them dry out to much or it will effect the growth and health.
