Development After Physical Life

(Granger): There are many levels of consciousness in this plane. When a personality arrives here from physical life he or she may begin at his or her own level of understanding and awareness. We are aware whenever anyone is leaving physical life. There will be what we will call a receiving committee who greets the individual personality in the easiest way for him or her to respond. There may be those, close to him or her in the physical life, who wish to be present on arrival here. Old friends are allowed to participate in greeting those near to them through family, friendship, or profession, where there is a common core of knowledge and awareness. The change to this plane is of so little difference in first appearance that the individual may have difficulty realizing that the transition has occurred.

Following the initial greeting, a new way of life begins to unfold. First, each one must learn how to cope with thought-material and thought-patterns as the very real raw material from which they will now learn to work. They will be surprised to see the patterns of thought- material from physical life available to them here. All the experiences from earth-life are here, to be used and worked with in this new life- style. It is of some interest to note the form in which the thought- material is held and available.

Thought-material from the physical life is presented and recorded here as energy-material. Now this energy-material is contained in capsule form in a state of constant and permanent vibration; not too unlike the form in which energy in earth is stored in energy fields, or electromagnetic fields, only here it is in a non-volatile state. It is permanent in its nature and can be copied, added to, or rearranged. However, the original material remains on file for all time; the earth record is never destroyed or lost. We continue indefinitely to work with, and add to, this core of earth-material. You see the value of having a good and varied supply of this material from physical life.

The objective in working with this energy-material is to use it as a base from which to continue the life-pattern of the individual personality. It is not possible to work from someone else's material; each must start with what has been provided from earth-life. We do not stand before some judge with a pointer or staff sorting out the good from the bad material. We must evaluate what we have, what we can do with it, and how we will proceed. Anything taken from others, at the expense of their well being and development, must be returned by some means of assistance to the one from whom it was taken. This is the area from which the concept of karma develops. It is sad to see those who have done so much damage to others that ages are required to restore the damage done. On the other hand, the "Leaping Effect" does have a valid reality. It means that while on earth we have the opportunity to take some giant steps in the progress of personal development by making some form of special effort to assist in some area of consciousness, or in the well being of life in general, over and above the requirements of the personal life program. There is no way to make these strides in later planes of consciousness. Each step must be worked in turn here.

As one continues to develop and learns how to operate in this plane, situations are presented to the individual from which a personal choice will be made as to the area of development to be followed. Once the choice is made, that area of development will be followed until all the experience required by the personality in that area of knowledge is completed. Then a new area of learning will be chosen and followed. Eventually a wide range of knowledge is built up as the personality progresses through the various areas of learning, gaining experience and developing the life-plan presented by the High-soul, which at all times is in communication with the personality.

To understand that life is a never-ending, on-going process, is of most importance to the person in the physical-earth life. Take advantage of every opportunity to learn, to acquire new knowledge, to expand the mind, to understand the point of view of other people and other cultures. The value of getting to understand as many concepts and ideas in the earth as possible cannot be over stressed. The old idea of earth religions stressed that if you remain a loyal member of the religious order, pay your dues, go to church, say the assigned prayers and think good thoughts about your neighbour, all is well and God, or Allah, or someone, will take care of you when you die and you will never need to work any more. That is not good enough!

The highest souls in all consciousness work, make effort, and struggle to raise the level of consciousness. You should expect to do no less. We can assure you there are no idle souls in Heaven. There is no unemployment this side of the curtain; all must make effort, all must struggle to achieve, all must desire to seek the next level of consciousness. Those personalities trapped in the weaving of their own mind, who do not experience this desire to achieve and expand and grow, these are the saddest cases of zombies in all of existence. However, anyone with enough zest for life to make the effort to read this book will not fall into that category. So have faith, press on toward the high calling to which you are privileged to participate.
