Spinks: How We Think/How You Think

(Granger for Spinks): Let us continue. Our same friend is writing. This is not Jason, as we said yesterday. We will identify him, or rather, he identifies himself as Spinks. Now he will continue.

Yes, this is Spinks writing. Now I notice that you (the writer) have some questions in your mind concerning our concepts of morals and of what we consider good and what we consider bad, as ethical and as unethical. We will, therefore, make a little excursion into the area of "goods and bads" this morning.

We do not share the physical world's concept of sin. I may sound somewhat cynical, but my observation of the concept called sin in the physical earth is to label something as sin, meaning it is bad or wrong and undesirable, then many people proceed immediately to follow through by committing that very act.

In our concept, the most desirable feature of living is the sheer enjoyment of the experience of living. We have no limits to the joy of living. We do not consider the process of living to be unhappy. Sadness is an almost nonexisting experience for us. We have no excesses that damage our joy and our enthusiasm in any way. For some reason that we find difficult to comprehend, this attitude toward living comes through to the earth-mind as being very simplistic and unsophisticated. We do not understand the physical mind in that respect.

We have sets of what you would think of as morals or codes of conduct. It is beyond our comprehension that we would proceed to live outside these codes of conduct. We will at all times conduct our lives within the framework of our intended purpose and nature. That is the basis of our philosophy, if we may use that word. We do not have any mental faculty or emotional antistructure that in any way gives us the desire to live some other way.

We have a wide array of preferences for the way we live. Some are slow to move and slow to learn. Some are very vibrant and clever. Others enjoy a certain amount of mischief and play games for fun. But in none of them is there a "splitting of the hoof" or of the mind. We have no devils in body or mind. Should I search the regions of our people. in all their habitats. I could not find any hatred of one for the other; hatred of each other is unknown here. When we observe the fires of hatred and strife that exist between peoples in the physical earth as individuals, as groups, and as nations, we simply avoid that condition. We have no way. mentally or emotionally, of coping with such a spectacle as human hatred. If you were to observe this emotion from this side of consciousness you would understand our feelings.

We will give some information relative to the process of thought as used by The Auroral People. We like to give an idea a visual structure as we work with the pattern of thought. Do not place our process of thinking in the categories of human thought. We use neither reason/logic or intuitive thought, nor for that matter, do we use instinct as it is used in physical life. We need to present a new concept of thought to get close to the understanding of the way we think. Possibly the very word "thought" is in itself somewhat misleading.

Let us say we have a mental process by which we are able to go from the unknown to the known. We have the capability of coming to conclusions. And yes, we have freedom of choice; we are not programmed in any way to follow a certain course of action or thinking. We act as individuals; we do not proceed as a herd in any way. Each individual is responsible for the results of his/her own conclusions and actions.

Let us try to get into focus for you now the process we use in coming to conclusions. Suppose you look out your window and see some object such as a robin looking for his breakfast in the garden. Immediately you get a great rash of thoughts. Spring has come ...robins fly from the south ...the earth is cool and damp. The worms are on the surface ...the garden needs work done ...but I must go to work now. Saturday ...maybe Saturday. What will I do this weekend? All because of the robin looking for his breakfast! Now that process of free-flow thought you might refer to as reverie, easy flows of thought, very common in the human mind. Suppose you used the same processes but you channelled it in certain ways.

You might visualize a garden of certain form and colours and odours. In this garden you might decide to place a bird or two, or even a dozen. You could decide to have a small fountain in the corner. In the end, you have visualized a very complete and pleasant garden, full of life and sparkle. Now let us assume that you go back to the beginning and recreate the whole pattern in your mind once more. The pattern may be changed somewhat; it may be rearranged slightly. Flowers may be located in different positions, or be of different colour combinations. And for a third time, you may review the whole scene one final time to make it complete in detail. Perhaps you choose to drop in some fleecy clouds and a wisp of wind ...a little bit of motion to complete the scene.

You in the physical earth could do all of that, but seldom do. You (the writer) do this many times at work, but you put it all in the form of flow- diagrams, block-diagrams, or networks. We, The Auroral People, do carry out this process all the time. We carry it farther; we "actualize" the scene. We create the scene in reality, in terms of our reality, to the extent that we can walk in and sit on our garden seat, in our own garden, and observe our own clouds go drifting by as we appreciate the pleasant odour from our own flowers, and listen to the singing of our own birds while they sit on a branch of our own tree.

In our reality, this scene is as vital and real as any physical scene in the earth in your reality. You could benefit from a state of mind or attitude toward life that allows you to comprehend the realities of life in other terms and planes of consciousness than the physical alone. Believe me, there are many forms and states of reality other than the physical.

In addition to the form of thought-creation or visualization we just described we have other processes of thinking. We may, for example, decide to give consideration to some idea of a somewhat abstract nature; we may want to project our thinking into a somewhat philosophical area of life; we may want to consider the pros and cons of several possible ways we could proceed from a given situation. We do not use logic and pure reason as is native to the human brain. You call up information from memory, insert other bits of data and project the combined results to see what might be the outcome of these combinations of the experience as supposed or assumed. This is a fine process and one to be cherished by all people of the physical brain and earth.

We use a somewhat similar process of the mind. We have a mind directly out of the soul-consciousness; however, there is in our being nothing similar to the physical brain. We use the mind much more directly than you do in physical life. Your mind is always in the shadow of the physical brain; the mind provides much information and thought-energy to the brain, but in physical life it allows the brain to process the thought-material and come up with its own conclusions ...a most unique arrangement of thought-processing.

We may choose to develop some ideas of a philosophical nature. We cannot relate to your ideas of earth-religions. They are so saturated with creeds and dogmas! We have no reason to establish such patterns; we are much more directly on-line to the sources of life than you are and have no need to create these sets of beliefs. No need for a rain-maker when you have the clouds that bring the showers directly at your disposal. But we do like to think about the reasons and purposes for life, and we like to debate the issues of the preferred ways to develop toward one's goals in life. We have goals in life and reasons for living, just as you do.

In our development of philosophies, or points of view, we do project ideas from what we know, or have experienced, from the known to the unknown. We are not too far removed from your reasoning process except that we create several alternative pathways in parallel, as well as events in sequence, in our thinking. We are able to see all the probable results in projection, and we have the opportunity to cut and change the thought-patterns until we establish what we believe to be the most suitable point of view.
