Political
Much of Roman culture has infused into the Aquarian mentality since BC 450/AS 1560 when the then Queen Aulis took a heavy interest in the classics of the Earthian Roman Society adopting the language, culture and political mannerisms. This adoption created a massive revolution in Aquarian society which continued until the eventual destruction in BC 0/AS 2000. Monuments were erected in honour of Aulis and a city was named after her on Galatea.
Aquarius is governed by a Royal Family and as part of the Millennium it falls under the rule of Queen Serenity of the Moon. The female of Aquarius inherits the throne, the King usually being a nobleman. The Queen is under no pressure in who she marries and left to her own choice. She acts as a semi- autocrat with guidance from a half-elected senate. She chooses 5 of her closest advisors to sit as her representation and support when she attends on a monthly basis and the other 14 members are elected democratically with four candidates from Galatea and Libra and 2 from each of Zephyrus, Castor and Pollux leaving a senate of 19. Although there is an odd number to give majorities, the Queen may act with emergency powers if she feels a decision is truly wrong but the senate has the right to demand a recorded document of explanation if necessary. The 19 members meet every week for formal discussion and also have sole use of the Debating Chamber at any time, which acts as much as a general meeting place and policy planning office as a pre-debating chamber.
